The Alphacool ES 1U - 19" - ServerRack - Watercooling Ready is a 1U server case for a 19" rack, 44.45 mm high. It has a mounting frame for one 40 mm radiator of up to 7 x 40 mm and takes mainboards from Mini-ITX to EE-ATX. Please note that the case comes without an I/O panel, and that radiator, fans and water cooling set are separate parts.

Water cooling for 490W waste heat
Alphacool says the enclosure has been specifically optimized to accommodate water cooling sets that can dissipate up to 490W of waste heat. That much can be dissipated only with an appropriate water cooling system. For this purpose it offers a mounting frame for a maximum of one 7x40mm full copper radiator of the Alphacool NexXxoS series. The frame for the radiator and fans can be moved within the case to suit any set-up. According to Alphacool, the optionally available ES 40 mm fans with PWM control ensure optimum cooling performance.
Alphacool also offers special water cooling sets for this enclosure, which can be individually configured and are delivered to the customer pre-filled. Drives
The 1U server rack has mounting options for two 5.25" drives, on the left and right side of the front. Each 5.25" bay offers the alternative of mounting 3.5" drives instead. A holding frame for up to four 2.5" drives is pre-mounted in the center front. From here it can be moved and mounted at five other positions in the enclosure. The drives go in with the screws supplied with them.
Mainboard
For an SSI-EEB mainboard, all the usual screw connection options in the classic ATX format are available. This includes all mounting holes for Mini-ITX to EE-ATX. Pay attention to which mounting holes your board uses: the manual says to unscrew all unused spacers and leave only the ones the mainboard needs. A graphics card in PCIe or 0.8" low-profile format can also be installed via a riser cable. A corresponding panel for 0.8" cards is pre-mounted.
What the case needs
The I/O panel is not in the box. Alphacool offers a separate set of I/O panel and cable set under item number 1021066: the front panel must be purchased separately. Radiator, fans, reservoir, pump and CPU cooler are your choice. Fans and radiator are screwed to the bracket with the screws that came with the radiator, and the power supply with its own. For an external loop, the manual shows panels you cut out to lead the hoses to the outside. A set of slide rails for rack mounting comes with the case.
