Alphacool ES 2U 19" Watercooling ServerRack Case REV1 (14677)

The Alphacool ES 2U 19" Watercooling ServerRack Case REV1 is a 2U rackmount server chassis for water-cooled systems. It takes motherboards from Mini-ITX up to EE-ATX and has a bracket for a radiator of up to 4x80mm. The I/O panel is sold separately (Item No. 25054).

Built for liquid cooling

This compact enclosure is engineered around high-performance liquid cooling for enterprise and workstation environments, and designed specifically for server systems that have to handle demanding thermal loads. It supports advanced cooling configurations while maintaining hardware compatibility and serviceability.

A dedicated mounting bracket holds an Alphacool NexXxoS full-copper radiator of up to 4x80mm. Optional Alphacool ES 80mm PWM fans can be installed on it for optimized airflow and efficient heat dissipation in dense server deployments. The manual shows the bracket separated into a triple fan bracket for three fans or a quad fan bracket for four. The internal radiator and fan bracket can also be repositioned inside the case to better accommodate custom hardware layouts.

The manual adds two more mounts: a Distro Plate Bracket and two Guardian Brackets, each fitted with the screws from the Distro Plate or the Guardian itself. In addition, the case is compatible with Alphacool's pre-configured enterprise liquid cooling kits, allowing tailored solutions for specialized deployments.

Motherboards and expansion cards

Using a standard ATX mounting layout, the case covers a wide range of motherboard form factors, with the spacers screwed in where the board needs them. Expansion support includes up to seven 0.8" low-profile cards or up to three single-slot cards, providing flexibility for networking, GPU acceleration or storage controller applications. For the two layouts the box holds long and short slot brackets, and the motherboard PCI bracket at the rear can be replaced.

Drives, front panel and power supply

For storage and front-panel customization, the front section provides mounting locations for up to four 5.25" drives. The optional Alphacool status front panel with USB connectivity can be installed there for additional functionality. Six PSU brackets, marked S to X in the manual, fit the rear cover to different power supply sizes.

Rail system

A newly developed rail system simplifies installation and maintenance in server racks or open-frame environments. Each rail slides onto the side of the case toward the front and is released by lifting its locking mechanism. The outer rail assembly is fixed in the server frame with a cage nut at the front. The case is then hooked into the frame and screwed to it.
