A modular series of glass tube reservoirs
Watercool builds the HEATKILLER® Tube series as a modular collection of high-quality expansion tanks, and each one has a glass tube made of borosilicate. Every part of a Tube can be exchanged on its own, the bottom included. Its many outstanding features are listed below.
Borosilicate glass tube
For Watercool, borosilicate is the best material currently available for the construction of an expansion tank, and it chose to rely on it. The glass offers high chemical and thermal resistance, low thermal expansion and a scratch-resistant quality. Watercool sees ideal conditions there to create a high-quality tank.
Standalone version
This is the Tube with the standalone bottom: it holds no pump, and the pump sits elsewhere in the loop. You can also purchase it in flow-optimized versions for the popular D5 and DDC pumps from Xylem (formerly Laing). Those have a solid acetal cover that you place directly on the pump, so the pump sucks the water straight from the expansion tank. Watercool says that design ensures higher flow rates and less noise.
Watercool has manufactured the Tube in different sizes and filling volumes, so you are flexible with the volume. Watercool says that gives you the opportunity to have it perfectly presented visually for all applications. The sizes 100, 150 and 200 mm cover everything from mini-ITX to huge big towers. The HEATKILLER Tube 200 DDC MP is the same size with a bottom that takes a DDC pump directly.
Anti-cyclone effect
With power pumps such as the D5 or DDC especially, a so-called cyclone effect can occur where the cooling medium is sucked in. The pump creates a kind of whirlpool, a vortex in the suction area, and pulls in air. This results not only in less cooling performance but also in air bubbles and ambient noise. Watercool says its newly developed stainless steel inlay has effectively switched off the cyclone effect, and the inlay is part of this standalone version too.
Large filling mouth
A quarter turn counter clockwise opens the bayonet catch lid without tools, and the large filling mouth makes refilling easy.
Elegant accessories, variable brackets and lighting
So that you can best integrate the Tube into a high-end system, Watercool has worked on an extensive accessory package (sold separately) that also includes different mounting options. Thanks to flexible mounting systems for horizontal or vertical mounting, you have the option of placing it standing, lying down or directly on fan locations.
- The short stand and the long stand screw to the case floor; a decoupling kit is made for them.
- The Basic Mounting Kit is a multifunctional bracket that slides onto the struts and mounts to a flat surface such as the case wall. With the 120 mm fan adapters or the 140 mm fan adapters it goes into a fan socket, and with Watercool's MO-RA3 adapter onto a MO-RA3 radiator.
The tank can be visually further enhanced with differently anodized struts: Watercool has blue, red and natural in its selection. The natural 200 mm struts are in stock. Watercool calls the color “natural” perfect for anodizing the struts themselves in the appropriate color. In keeping with the current hype surrounding products with RGB LEDs, the accessories also include RGB and addressable RGB LED strips such as the High Luminous aRGB LED Stripe S. A strip runs through a small opening in the designated strut.
What the loop needs
The reservoir has no pump, so the loop needs one of our pumps on its own. Fittings are not included either, so add two fittings to suit your tube size. We carry more of this length in our 200mm tube reservoirs.
Made in Germany
Watercool says production is carried out with the greatest care on its ultra-modern CNC machine park in Waren-Müritz, Germany, where many work steps are done by hand. Each product is brought to perfection according to the four-eye principle, which Watercool calls Made in Germany as you would imagine it.

Notes
- Check every seal before the first start-up. If the reservoir leaks, look at the O-rings for correct position and damage; a squeezed or damaged O-ring means the reservoir must not be used.
- Drain the reservoir and take it out of the loop completely before any alteration. On this standalone version the four screws of the bottom are directly accessible.
- O-rings of two strengths (4 mm and 5 mm) seal the glass tube and compensate for its length tolerance. Use the same strength you found in the reservoir when you replace one; the O-ring spare set contains both.
