The HEATKILLER Tube series
Watercool builds the HEATKILLER® Tube Series as a modular system of high end reservoirs around a glass tube made from borosilicate glass. Every part can be exchanged on its own: for example, the base for a DDC pump can be changed to one for a D5. The outstanding features Watercool names for the series are listed here.
To account for the space availability in current cases, the glass tubes come in three sizes, 100 mm, 150 mm and 200 mm, from a mini-ITX build to a big tower. There are also three versions. Besides the standalone version, two have direct connections for pumps: they support D5 and DDC pumps by Lowara (formerly known as Laing, now Xylem) and their derivatives. This is the standalone version in the 200 mm size. The same tube comes with a pump bottom as the Tube 200 D5 or the Tube 200 DDC. The shorter standalone ones are the Tube 100 and Tube 150.
Borosilicate glass and the large filling mouth
Borosilicate is a glass with very high chemical and thermic (thermal) resistance and very low heat expansion, and it is scratch-resistant. Watercool says these features make it an ideal material for reservoirs.
Thanks to the bayonet catch lid, the large filling mouth is opened with a quarter turn counterclockwise, without any tools. That makes the reservoir easy to fill, and Watercool says it has never been easier to re-fill a cooling medium.
Large volume
Watercool writes that in designing the series "we took great care not to waste any of the available volume". The reservoirs need fewer re-fills because of it, which keeps maintenance very low.
Anti-cyclone inlay and pump chambers
D5 and DDC pumps easily form a vortex in the suction area and pull in air, which lowers cooling performance and brings bubbles into the loop. An exclusively developed anti-cyclone inlay of stainless steel, located at the bottom of the reservoir, prevents those vortices; this standalone version has it too. Watercool says it reduces noise levels and makes air bleeding easier.
On the pump versions the pump adapter is a fitted acetal (POM) part that replaces the standard bottom piece, so the pump is fed straight from the reservoir. Watercool gives the D5 and DDC pump chambers a streaming-optimized shape: the chamber causes fewer vortices during use, with a positive effect on both flow rate and air bleeding.
Made in Germany
Watercool states that the Tube reservoirs are completely produced in Germany, on its own CNC machines in Waren, with much of the work done by hand and each product finished under the dual control principle.
Options
Extensive optional accessories, sold separately, offer variable mounting systems for optimal integration into a water cooled system, so they can fit your build. For example:
- Horizontal mount (pedestal): two pedestals of different height, the short stand and the long stand. They screw to the case floor, or the reservoir stands free-standing on them. A matching decoupling kit is available separately.
- Vertical mount: the multifunctional bracket of the Basic Mounting Kit slides onto the struts and holds the reservoir on a flat surface such as the case wall.
- Several adapters for the bracket: some attach the reservoir to 120x120mm or 140x140mm cooler slots (fan mounts), the 120 mm pair and the 140 mm pair. Others allow mounting it on a radiator from the MO-RA3 series.
- Illumination: splash-safe LED strips in various colors, RGB or aRGB, set the reservoir in scene. They are hidden in the struts of the reservoir cage.
- Colored struts: exchange the default black struts to customize the reservoir. Watercool offers aluminum struts in natural color, which third parties can anodize in any color.
- Watercool also makes them with a choice of anodized colors (red, blue); the 200 mm black struts and the 200 mm raw aluminum struts are on the shelf.
What the loop needs
A pump elsewhere in the loop, since this version has no pump mount: see the pumps. The two G1/4 ports take two fittings for your tube.

Notes
- Check all seals before the first start-up. If the reservoir leaks, check the O-rings for position and damage; with a squeezed or damaged O-ring it must not be used.
- Drain the reservoir and take it out of the loop before any change to it. On this standalone version the four screws that hold the bottom to the struts are directly accessible.
- The glass tube seals with O-rings of 4 mm or 5 mm to make up for length tolerance. Use the strength you found in your reservoir; the spare O-rings for the glass tube contain both.
