Details
A tube reservoir with a direct mount for a DDC pump (original Laing, Lowara or Xylem DDC, sold separately). It has a 200 mm borosilicate glass tube, about 500 ml of filling volume and a Multiport top (MP). The Watercool HEATKILLER Tube 200 DDC MP has a POM top, a flow-optimized POM pump bottom and black anodized aluminum struts.

A modular series of glass tube reservoirs
The HEATKILLER® Tube series is Watercool's modular collection of high-quality expansion tanks, each built around a glass tube made of borosilicate. Every part can be exchanged separately, so this DDC bottom can later be changed to one that takes a D5 pump. Watercool says it has many outstanding features, which are listed below.
Borosilicate glass tube
Watercool calls borosilicate the best material currently available for the construction of an expansion tank, and Watercool chose to rely on it for every Tube. The glass offers high chemical and thermal resistance, very low thermal expansion and a scratch-resistant surface. In Watercool's words, those are ideal conditions to create a high-quality tank.
Flow-optimized DDC version
You can purchase the Tube in flow-optimized versions for the popular D5 and DDC pumps from Xylem (formerly Laing), and this is the DDC one. Watercool has made a solid acetal (POM) cover that replaces the standard bottom piece and that you place directly on the pump. The pump sucks the water straight from the expansion tank with no extra parts, and the flow-optimized design ensures higher flow rates and less noise.
Watercool has manufactured the Tube in different sizes, which gives you the opportunity to pick between filling volumes and to have the reservoir presented visually in all kinds of applications. The sizes 100, 150 and 200 mm cover everything from mini-ITX to huge big towers. With a DDC bottom we also stock the 100 mm and 150 mm sizes.
Fitting the DDC pump
Only the motor of your DDC pump is used (rotor and stator). Take off its pump body by removing the four torx screws in the pump base. Put the empty reservoir on its side and remove the four M4x35 DIN956 screws on the bottom to take off the pump cover. Set the motor with its rotor into that cover and guide the cable out through the small lateral notch. Once the O-ring is back in its intended position, screw the cover and pump onto the reservoir. Take care not to squeeze or damage the cable.
Anti-cyclone effect
Especially with power pumps such as the D5 or DDC, the so-called cyclone effect can occur where the cooling medium is sucked in. The pump creates a kind of whirlpool, a vortex in the suction area, and draws in air. That not only results in less cooling performance, but also brings air bubbles into the loop and ambient noise. Watercool says its newly developed stainless steel inlay has effectively switched off the effect.
Large filling mouth
A quarter turn counter clockwise opens the bayonet catch lid without any tools, and the large filling mouth behind it makes filling easy.
Elegant accessories, variable brackets and lighting
To integrate the Tube into your high-end system, Watercool has worked on an extensive accessory package, sold separately, and it includes different mounting options. Thanks to flexible mounting systems for horizontal or vertical mounting, you have the option of placing it standing, lying down or directly on fan locations.
- The short stand or the long stand screws to the case floor; a decoupling kit fits it.
- The Basic Mounting Kit is a bracket mount for a flat surface such as the case wall. With the 120 mm fan adapters or 140 mm fan adapters it goes on a fan mount, or on a MO-RA3 radiator with its adapter.
The expansion tank can be visually further enhanced with differently anodized struts. Watercool has blue, red and natural (raw aluminum) struts in its selection, each in the 200 mm length. Watercool calls the color “natural” perfect for anodizing the struts themselves in the appropriate color. In keeping with the current hype surrounding products with RGB LEDs, there are also RGB and addressable RGB LED strips among the accessories, such as the High Luminous aRGB LED Stripe S. You place a strip through a small opening in the designated strut, and Watercool says the reservoir is then perfectly illuminated.
What the loop needs
A DDC pump is not in the box: pick one from our DDC pumps. The reservoir has no fittings either, so add two fittings for your tube size.
Made in Germany
Watercool says the production is carried out with the greatest care on its ultra-modern CNC machine park in Waren-Müritz, Germany. Many work steps are done by hand, and each product is brought to perfection according to the four-eye principle. Made in Germany as you would imagine it, in Watercool's own words.

Notes
- Check every seal for leaks before the first start-up. If the reservoir leaks, check the O-rings for correct position and damage; with a squeezed or damaged O-ring the reservoir must not be used.
- Drain the reservoir and take it out of the loop completely before any alteration. On the DDC version the pump must come off first to reach the screws of the bottom.
- The glass tube is sealed with O-rings of two strengths (4 mm and 5 mm) to compensate for length tolerance. When you replace them, use the same strength you found in the reservoir; the O-ring spare set holds both.
