A modular series of glass tube reservoirs
The HEATKILLER® Tube series is Watercool's modular collection of high-quality expansion tanks, each built around a glass tube made of borosilicate. Every part can be exchanged separately, so a bottom for a DDC pump can later be changed to one that takes a D5 pump. Watercool says it has many outstanding features, which are listed below.
Borosilicate glass tube
Watercool calls borosilicate the best material currently available for the construction of an expansion tank, and Watercool chose to rely on it for every Tube. The glass offers high chemical and thermal resistance, very low thermal expansion and a scratch-resistant surface. In Watercool's words, those are ideal conditions for creating a high-quality tank.
Different filling volumes and pump versions
Watercool has manufactured the Tube in different sizes, which gives you the opportunity to be flexible with the filling volume. It also lets the reservoir be presented visually in all kinds of applications. The sizes 100, 150 and 200 mm cover everything from mini-ITX to huge big towers. This 100 mm one is the smallest; the next size up is the HEATKILLER Tube 150 MP.
You can also purchase the Tube in flow-optimized versions for the popular D5 and DDC pumps from Xylem (formerly Laing). For those, Watercool has made a solid acetal (POM) cover that replaces the bottom piece and sits directly on the pump. The pump sucks the water straight from the expansion tank with no extra parts, and the flow-optimized design ensures higher flow rates and less noise. With the same 100 mm tube that version is the HEATKILLER Tube 100 DDC MP.
Anti-cyclone effect
Especially with power pumps such as the D5 or DDC, the so-called cyclone effect can occur where the cooling medium is sucked in. The pump creates a kind of whirlpool, a vortex in the suction area, and draws in air. That not only results in less cooling performance, but also brings air bubbles into the loop and ambient noise. Watercool says its newly developed stainless steel inlay has effectively switched off the effect.
Large filling mouth
The lid is a bayonet catch: a quarter turn counter clockwise opens it without any tools. Behind it sits a large filling mouth, so the reservoir is easy to fill and to top up with coolant later.
Elegant accessories, variable brackets and lighting
To integrate the Tube into your high-end system, Watercool has worked on an extensive accessory package, sold separately, and it includes different mounting options. Thanks to flexible mounting systems for horizontal or vertical mounting, you have the option of placing the reservoir standing on the case floor, lying down, on a wall or directly on fan locations.
- The short stand or the long stand fixes it to the case floor through four holes, with a decoupling kit for the stand available.
- The Basic Mounting Kit is a multifunctional bracket mount for a flat surface such as the case wall. With the 120 mm fan adapters or 140 mm fan adapters it goes on a fan mount, and an adapter for MO-RA3 series radiators exists too.
The expansion tank can be visually further enhanced with differently anodized struts. The selection has blue and red struts in this 100 mm length, plus natural (raw) aluminum. Watercool calls the color “natural” perfect for anodizing the struts themselves in the appropriate color, or by third parties in any given color. In keeping with the current hype surrounding products with RGB LEDs, there are also RGB and addressable RGB LED strips among the accessories, such as the High Luminous aRGB LED Stripe S. You place a strip through a small opening in the designated strut, so the reservoir can be perfectly illuminated.
What the loop needs
The reservoir has no pump and no fittings. Pick two fittings for your tube size, and run it with a separate pump from our pumps.
Made in Germany
Watercool says the production is carried out with the greatest care on its ultra-modern CNC machine park in Waren-Müritz, Germany. Many work steps are done by hand, and each product is brought to perfection according to the four-eye principle. Made in Germany as you would imagine it, in Watercool's own words.

Notes
- Check every seal for leaks before the first start-up. If the reservoir leaks, check the O-rings for correct position and damage; with a squeezed or damaged O-ring the reservoir must not be used.
- Drain the reservoir and take it out of the loop completely before any alteration.
- The glass tube is sealed with O-rings of two strengths (4 mm and 5 mm) to compensate for length tolerance. When you replace them, use the same strength you found in the reservoir; the O-ring spare set holds both.
In the box
