How the DIY block works

This block can cool the converters on motherboards for which no specially adapted cooler is available, and other locations are also conceivable. The base plate must be brought to the individual dimensions and provided with mounting holes; it has a basic size of 100 x 15 x 2 mm. LT means the top part is not copper: here it is black POM. The all-copper version is the HEATKILLER SW-X 60 DIY.

A thermal conductive agent is recommended and not included in the scope of delivery: see our thermal range. The two connections are used with two fittings.

Notes

  • Copper conducts electricity: place the block as a test first, and insulate coils or capacitors in narrow spots, ideally with plastic wrap.
  • Tighten the screws and nuts only slightly; a few turns are enough.
  • There is no defined inlet or outlet, so the flow direction does not matter.
