M.2 SSD Heatsinks

A passive heatsink is the simpler answer for an M.2 drive that throttles: no loop to plumb, no extra fitting, and nothing to leak. It will not match a water block under sustained writes, but for a drive that only spikes during large transfers it is usually enough.

Alphacool HDX covers the two common drive lengths, the M01 at 80mm and the M02 at 110mm, both black. Aquacomputer supplies the kryo M.2 micro passive heatsink for 2280 drives and a full passive heat sink for kryo M.2. Thermal Grizzly makes a straightforward M.2 SSD cooler.

Check the clearance above the slot before you order. The M.2 socket under a graphics card is the one that runs hottest and also the one with the least room for a tall sink. Water block versions are in M.2 SSD blocks.
