The Aquacomputer KryoM.2 Micro Passive Heatsink for M.2 2280 SSD (53247) is a passive heat sink for single-sided M.2 SSDs in size 2280. It is made of black anodized aluminum with laser engraving and is held on by two stainless steel clips.

Cooling and fit
Aquacomputer says the cooling capacity of this passive cooler is sufficient for many applications. Its compact dimensions make the cooler suitable for almost all motherboard manufacturers and models.
Installation
The heat sink is simply clipped onto the SSD with the enclosed clips, which are made of spring steel. Beforehand, the enclosed heat-conducting pad is mounted between SSD and cooler for optimum heat transfer. During assembly the SSD is not mechanically stressed, and the board edge is not touched.
- Apply the protective foil to the bottom side of the SSD board.
- Remove both foils from the 1.0 mm thermal pad, then lay it on the top side of the SSD board.
- Slide the metal clips onto the SSD board; they are attached from the sides.
- Slide the heat sink beneath the clips.
- Press the clips over the edge of the aluminum profile: they are just clipped over it, and you are done.
A replacement thermal pad has the part number 51211.
Notes
- Please note: compatible with M.2 type 2280 (width 22 mm, length 80 mm), height S1 / S2 / S3. That means a board equipped on one side, with a maximum component height of 1.2 / 1.35 / 1.5 mm, which corresponds to 2.3 mm max including the PCB.
