Details
The Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos NEXT RGBpx AM5/AM4/3000/5000/7000/8000/9000, Acrylic / Nickel (21803) is a CPU water block for AMD socket AM5 and AM4, for the Ryzen 9000, 8000, 7000, 5000 and 3000 series. Its top is made of clear acrylic under a silver anodized aluminum frame, and its base is nickel-plated copper.

Cooler base and flow
Aquacomputer says the cuplex kryos NEXT represents a new milestone in the development of CPU water coolers, and that the areas of cooling performance, assembly and functionality have been perfected here. Through an integrated flat nozzle in the housing, coolant enters the middle of the extremely fine microstructure of the base and flows out to both sides. Aquacomputer says this thus sets new standards for cooling performance.
Mounting system
The mounting plates are solid stainless steel sheet, 2.5 mm thick, with nickel-plated spring cups pressed in. Attaching the cooler by knurled screws and springs leaves the mainboard visually very tidy, due to the low height of the holding system. The bracket has a defined stop, which gives optimal contact pressure and force distribution.
AM5 and AM4 boards already carry a back plate as part of the CPU socket, so no additional backplate is needed. The heat sink is not positioned in the center of the CPU but rather offset slightly off the center, to match the internal structure of these Ryzen CPU series. In this way, Aquacomputer says, optimal heat dissipation can be guaranteed.
The cooler comes with excellent thermal paste: 0.5 grams of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, packed in a syringe and easily applied with the enclosed plastic spatula.
RGBpx illumination
Under the silver aluminum cover, 11 individually addressable RGBpx LEDs are integrated into the block. The included cable links them to an RGBpx output of an Aqua Computer device; more RGBpx parts can be daisy-chained.
Compatibility
Aquacomputer names these devices with an RGBpx output:
- D5 NEXT (41118)
- farbwerk 360 (53279)
- farbwerk nano (53280, 53281)
- OCTO (53286)
- QUADRO (53256)
For a motherboard header for addressable LEDs, use the RGBpx adapter (53285), sold separately.
What the loop needs
Besides a pump and radiator, the loop needs two G1/4 fittings. Coolant goes in through the port close to the center and returns from the lateral port next to the "NEXT" engraving; reversed flow significantly lowers cooling performance. For corrosion inhibition Aquacomputer requires Double Protect Ultra as coolant.
Notes
- Check the block and fittings for leaks before other PC components go on mains power.
