The Aquacomputer Retrofit Kit Socket AM5/AM4/3000/5000/7000/8000/9000 for Cuplex Kryos NEXT (21788) is an AMD mounting kit for a CPU water block. It contains the parts necessary to adapt an existing cuplex kryos NEXT, NEXT VARIO or NEXT VISION to Socket AM5 or AM4 motherboards. Please note: it is not compatible with the acrylic glass version.

On the AM5/AM4 9000/8000/7000/5000/3000 retention system the block does not sit centered on the CPU. Aquacomputer places it slightly off-center instead, in line with the asymmetrical internal design of these CPU series, for optimum heat dissipation.

Swapping the retention plates

Besides the plates, the set also includes a suitable set of mounting material: four knurled screws. First take the four screws out of the base part of the block and lift the base part off. Then remove the set screws below it from the outlying threads, and pull the old retention plates out of the water block housing.

Slide the new plates into the recesses of the housing and secure them with the set screws in the outlying threads. If the gaskets came off the housing, put them back into their grooves, aligned exactly with them. Then set the base part on the housing and fit the countersunk head screws from the first step.

What it fits

The kit is for a block you already own; mounting it on the motherboard then follows the block's own installation steps. Other mounting parts are in our mounting hardware section. An acrylic glass block takes the acrylic glass version of this kit instead.

Notes

• Tighten the set screws only slightly and by hand. Excessive force may warp and damage the water block housing, especially with the acetal version.
• Tighten the screws of the base part by hand as well, without excessive force.
