The Aquacomputer Retrofit Kit Socket 2011-3/2011/2066 for Cuplex Kryos NEXT (21691) is a CPU block mounting kit for Intel socket 2011-3, 2011 and 2066 motherboards. It adapts an existing cuplex kryos NEXT, cuplex kryos NEXT VARIO or cuplex kryos NEXT VISION to those sockets. Please note: it is not compatible with the acrylic glass version of the block.

Swapping the retention plates

This set contains the necessary plates to adapt the block, and it also includes a suitable set of mounting material. Take the four screws out of the base part of the block and lift the base part off. Below it, undo the set screws in the outlying threads, then pull the old retention plates out of the water block housing.

Slide the new plates into the recesses of the housing and lock them in place with the set screws in the outlying threads. If a gasket came off during disassembly, press it back into its groove, exactly aligned. Finally set the base part on the housing and refit the countersunk head screws from the first step.

What you need to convert it

The kit is for a block you already own; mounting the converted block on the motherboard follows that block's own installation steps. Other mounting parts are in our mounting hardware section, and complete blocks are under Intel CPU blocks.

Notes

• Tighten the set screws only slightly, by hand. Excessive force may warp and damage the water block housing, especially on the acetal version.
• The base part screws are also tightened by hand, without excessive force.
