Quick Overview

The cuplex kryos NEXT from Aquacomputer represents a new milestone in the development of CPU water coolers. The areas of cooling performance, assembly and functionality have been perfected here.  Now with RGB!!!

Details

The Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos NEXT RGBpx Black 2011 / 2011-3 / 2066, Acrylic / .925 Silver (21834) is a CPU water block for Intel socket 2011, 2011-3 and 2066. Its clear acrylic housing with a black anodized aluminum cover sits on a .925 silver base.

Properties

Sockets
Intel 2011, 2011-3, 2066
Top
Clear acrylic, black anodized aluminum cover
Base
.925 silver, extremely fine microstructure
Lighting
11 individually addressable RGBpx LEDs

Cooler base and flow

Aquacomputer says the cuplex kryos NEXT represents a new milestone in the development of CPU water coolers, and that the areas of cooling performance, assembly and functionality have been perfected here. Through an integrated flat nozzle in the cooler housing, the coolant reaches the middle of the microstructure of the cooler base. Aquacomputer says this thus sets new standards for cooling performance. On this version the radiator base is made of .925 silver.

Mounting system

The mounting system is solid stainless steel sheet, 2.5 mm thick, and the nickel-plated spring cups are pressed in here. Attaching the cooler to the mainboard with knurled screws and springs keeps the holding system visually very tidy, due to the low height. The bracket has a defined stop for optimal contact pressure and force distribution.

With socket 2011 and 2066, as with AM4 and TR4, no additional backplate is required, as one is already part of the mainboard processor socket. The springs and knurled screws go into the anchor threads of the CPU socket.

Thermal paste

The cooler comes with excellent thermal paste from Thermal Grizzly: Kryonaut, 0.5 grams. It is packed in a syringe and can be easily applied with the enclosed plastic spatula.

RGBpx illumination

The 11 LEDs are integrated under the black aluminum cover. Their connector, left above the "N" of the "NEXT" engraving, takes the included cable to an RGBpx output of an Aqua Computer device. More RGBpx components daisy-chain from the adjacent connector.

Compatibility

Aquacomputer lists these devices with an RGBpx output:

An adapter for common motherboard connectors (53285) is sold separately.

What the loop needs

Two connections take two fittings. Coolant flows in through the fitting close to the center and out of the lateral connector by the "NEXT" engraving; reversed flow significantly decreases cooling performance. For corrosion inhibition Aquacomputer requires Double Protect Ultra as coolant.

In the box

  • 1x mounted cooler
  • 1x mounting kit (screws, springs, etc.)
  • 1x Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste, approx. 0.5 grams in syringe
  • 1x plastic spatula
  • 1x RGBpx connection cable 50 cm
  • 1x assembly instructions

The manual covers mounting, flow direction and the RGBpx connection.
