Quick Overview

The Aqualis PRO Borosilicate reservoirs are some of the highest quality, most integrated reservoirs we carry. This Aqualis PRO 880 mL has an LED holder for lighting and no fill level sensor; it can be upgraded later with the aqualis PRO fill level sensor kit (34053). Aqualis reservoir / top combos are available for both standard D5 and DDC configurations.

Details

The Aquacomputer Aqualis PRO 880 mL Reservoir with Lighting Option (34049) is a tube reservoir of approx. 880 ml with G1/4 connection threads and an LED holder: an acrylic window in its base takes up to six 5 mm LEDs. It has no fill level sensor built in, and no pump or pump top.

Properties

Capacity
approx. 880 ml
Ports
G1/4, center and lateral in the base, four in the lid
Tube
Borosilicate glass, 75 mm outer diameter, 5 mm wall thickness
Lighting
Acrylic window, room for up to six 5 mm LEDs
Size
approx. 80 x 80 x 300 mm without bracket

Borosilicate glass tube

All aqualis series reservoirs are equipped with a borosilicate glass tube, where tube reservoirs often use acrylic glass. In contrast, Aquacomputer says borosilicate glass is extremely hard and scratch-resistant and features superb thermal and chemical resistance with a very low thermal expansion. Here the tube is 75 mm across with a wall thickness of 5 mm; the 100 ml and 150 ml variants use one with an outer diameter of 50 mm.

Fountain effect or lateral return

Base and top are made from Delrin and connected by a stainless steel rod, which is in fact a tube. With the return line on the center connector, the water flows up through it and is ejected at the top through eight nozzles. Aquacomputer calls it a real eye catcher with illumination. A thin acrylic plate near the bottom, pre-installed, reduces air ingestion to a minimum.

Alternatively, return line and suction line both go to the lateral connectors, and the water exits directly from the base part. The acrylic plate then comes out, and the stainless steel deflector plate from the box is installed above the return channel into the reservoir to effectively remove air from the water circuit. A supplied sealing screw closes the unused thread in either setup. The base part also has an M6 thread, which lets a little coolant flow straight in for easier filling.

Lighting and fill level sensor

The lighting feature sits in the base part: an acrylic window, used as the LED holder. Up to six LEDs (5 mm size) can be installed there under a stainless steel cover, with a cable duct to the side.

This PRO has no fill level sensor. It can be upgraded with an electronic one at a later date, using the fill level sensor kit for aqualis PRO 450/880 (34053). The XT version with the fill level sensor built in is article 34050, our Aqualis XT 880 ml with Fill Level Measurement and Lighting Option.

What the loop needs

Fittings are not included in delivery: each connector you use takes a G1/4 fitting from our fittings section. Connectors with a larger outer diameter than the recesses below need suitable extensions. A separate pump from our pumps section moves the coolant. Many reservoirs are also available with pump top adapters and pumps pre-installed, and most variants with a nano coating that will cause water to roll off the inner surface of the glass.

Technical details

Dimensions without stainless steel bracket approx. 80 x 80 x 300 mm
Filling volume approx. 880 ml
Connection threads G1/4
Recess around connection threads of the base part Diameter 25 mm, depth 6 mm (center) / 18 mm (lateral)
Recess around connection threads of the lid Diameter 26 mm, depth 3 mm

Notes

  • The lid has four holes including sealing screws, even where a product photo shows otherwise.
  • The top unscrews counter-clockwise and frees the glass tube; keep the gaskets, seat them in their grooves on reassembly and use moderate force, no tools.
  • Two M3 x 8 mm screws fasten the stainless steel bracket to the reservoir; four more with nuts mount it to the PC. Screws in the plastic base part take light force only.

In the box

  • One reservoir
  • One stainless steel bracket
  • One stainless steel deflector plate
  • Two sealing screws G1/4 (preinstalled)
  • Mounting material

The Installation Manual covers taking the reservoir apart, both return line setups, the LEDs and the bracket.
