Quick Overview

The Aqualis Borosilicate reservoirs are some of the highest quality, most integrated reservoirs we carry. With simple pump top and pump attachments, the Aqualis series is the first, truly modular watercooling system. Aqualis reservoirs with pumps and pump tops are available for both standard D5 and DDC configurations.

Details

The Aquacomputer Aqualis DDC 150 mL Reservoir is a tube reservoir with a built-in DDC pump top: a Laing DDC pump motor mounts directly to its base. It holds approx. 150 ml, and the pump itself is not included.

Properties

Pump
Laing DDC, mounted directly (not included)
Capacity
approx. 150 ml
Ports
G1/4
Size
approx. 62 x 62 x 177 mm without pump
Material
Borosilicate glass tube, Delrin base and lid, stainless steel rod

Borosilicate glass tube

Every expansion tank in the aqualis series is equipped with a tube made of borosilicate glass. In contrast to the Plexiglas (acrylic glass) tubes commonly used for tube reservoirs, it has a very high hardness and scratch resistance, excellent chemical and thermal resistance and very low thermal expansion. On the 100 ml and 150 ml variants the tube has an outer diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm.

The bases and covers are made of Delrin, and lid and base are connected by a stainless steel rod. All 100 ml and 150 ml versions are also available with a nano coating, allowing the water to pearl off from the inside of the glass. One of them is the aqualis DDC 100 ml with nano coating (34076).

DDC pump mounting

These DDC 100/150 ml variants are designed for direct mounting of a Laing DDC pump at the reservoir. Remove the four screws of the pump's top section; only the housing with the electronic components, the impeller and the gasket are needed. Seat the gasket in the groove of the pump housing, insert the motor and secure it with the M4 x 16 mm screws, gently and by hand.

Four rubber decouplers (art. no. 41092, the Ultra Soft Pump Decoupling Kit) fit into the rear of the base part. Alternatively, install pump and reservoir in the PC case using the two mounting protrusions of the pump body. For a Laing D5 pump, the aqualis D5 100/150 ml variants are the ones to look at in our 150mm D5 tube reservoirs.

What the loop needs

A DDC pump and the fittings, both of which are ordered separately; the decouplers are not in the box either. Return line and suction line both connect to the base of the reservoir. To take the tube out, turn the top counter-clockwise, and keep the gaskets aligned in their grooves when you screw it back on without tools.
