Quick Overview

The Aqualis D5 Borosilicate reservoirs are some of the highest quality, most integrated reservoirs we carry. With simple pump top and pump attachments, the Aqualis series is the first, truly modular watercooling system. Aqualis reservoirs with pumps and pump tops are available for both standard D5 and DDC configurations.

Details

The Aquacomputer Aqualis D5 100 mL Reservoir (34079) is a 100 ml tube reservoir that a Laing D5 pump mounts to directly. Its Delrin base part is the pump receptacle and serves as the D5 pump top. Pump, decouplers and fittings are not included.

Properties

Pump
Laing D5, mounted directly (not included)
Capacity
approx. 100 ml
Ports
G1/4
Size
approx. 80 x 80 x 140 mm, 175 mm high with the pump

Borosilicate glass tube

Every expansion tank of the aqualis series is equipped with a tube made of borosilicate glass. In contrast to Plexiglas, which is the acrylic glass commonly used for reservoir tubes, borosilicate glass has a very high hardness and scratch resistance and very low thermal expansion. Aquacomputer rates its chemical and thermal resistance as excellent. On the 100 ml and 150 ml variants the glass has an outer diameter of 50 mm and a wall thickness of 5 mm. The base part and the lid are Delrin, as on all bases and covers of the series, connected by a stainless steel rod.

Direct D5 mounting

The reservoir is designed for direct mounting of a Laing D5 pump at its base. A complete D5 pump is disassembled first: only the housing with the electronic components and the impeller are needed. With the gasket in the pump receptacle and the motor inserted, the clamping ring slides over the rear side and four countersunk M4 x 12 mm screws hold it. Four rubber decouplers (art. no. 41092, the Ultra Soft Pump Decoupling Kit) can go into the rear of the base part.

All 100 ml and 150 ml versions are also available with a nano coating, allowing water to pearl off from the inside of the glass tube. This article is the uncoated one.

What the loop needs

Add a Laing D5 pump or pump motor, for example the D5 Pump Core (41091) or the D5 Next RGB (41118). Return line and suction line both connect in the base of the reservoir, so you need a G1/4 fitting for each from our fittings section.

Technical details

Dimensions without pump approx. 80 x 80 x 140 mm
Dimensions with pump (not included in delivery) approx. 80 x 80 x 175 mm
Filling volume approx. 100 ml
Connection threads G1/4
Recess around connection threads of the lid Diameter 23 mm, depth 3 mm (larger connectors only with suitable extensions, not included)

Notes

  • Tighten the pump ring screws gently by hand so the threads are not damaged.
  • To open the reservoir, turn the top counter-clockwise without tools; on reassembly align the gaskets with their grooves.

In the box

  • 1x Reservoir Tube
  • Hardware and Accessories
  • 2x sealing screws G1/4 (preinstalled)
  • 1x clamping ring and four screws (to attach the pump to the reservoir)
  • 4x screws and distance pieces for side mounting

The installation manual shows how to fit the D5 pump motor, take the reservoir apart and connect it to the loop.
