An update in the Eisdecke series
Alphacool's top for the Laing D5 is now a member of the Eisdecke series and receives an update. For years now this top is already a measure, Alphacool says, and small improvements have been made again and again. The second major update differs in a few details, both visually and technically.
The principle
On the bottom there is space for the pump, a Laing D5 or the VPP655 of this product. The inlet and outlet are in the front or on top. For even more flexibility the Eisdecke gets three inlets and two outlets. Another feature is the new holder, there to give the entire unit a stable footing and complete the overall visual image. Optional installation in a 3.5" drive bay is possible.
The top can be converted to a complete reservoir by using the supplementary element, which is given as an accessory and has also been revised. We stock the Eisdecke DDC/D5 Single Reservoir for Alphacool Eisdecke Top.
The VPP655 pump
Alphacool calls the VPP655 its new power pump series, with exceptional performance at an unbeatable price. These 12V pumps can simply be connected directly to a 12V Molex connector of the system PSU. The pump will then start with your PC, which Alphacool counts as maximum convenience and safety. Alphacool says this pump is ideal for PC and other electronics water cooling.
It is a DC pump, equipped with an electronically commutated spherical motor. In a pump with such a ball motor the only moving part is a spherically shaped rotor, held in place by a bearing ball made of ultra-hard and wear-resistant ceramic. Alphacool says the spherical bearing of the rotor offers many advantages. For example, due to the design an increase of bearing play is impossible, allowing the pump to run quietly and smoothly over its whole lifespan. Separate magnetic shielding is not needed for the pump. According to Alphacool, the ball motor design allows efficient operation in combination with excellent performance.
This pump is also shipped as only the pump core itself, which Alphacool calls the special feature of that model, a fact that matters when using a third-party pump top. Why pay more for all the things you won't need? We stock it as the VPP655 PWM Pump Core. This product is the pump and the top together.
What the loop needs
One inlet and one outlet are used, so the top takes two G1/4 fittings for your tube size. A thread that stays unused takes a plug from our plug and stop fittings.
