The Alphacool Subzero Thermal grease 3.5g is a gray thermal paste for the CPU: 3.5 grams in a syringe with a screw-on lid, with a plastic spatula in the box. It is not electrically conductive. The smaller size is the Subzero Thermal Grease 1g.

Who is this paste suitable for?

Alphacool has designed this high-performance grease for all users who want optimum performance from their system, but especially for those who want to get the most out of their high-end system. It calls the paste an excellent choice when performance and ease of application are required. Alphacool calls the thermal conductivity high and says that makes the paste one of the best performing thermal pastes on the market. By its account only pastes made from liquid metal offer more thermal conductivity than this one. The grease is also suitable for high contact pressures.

Application

Apply a thin layer across the whole of the CPU. The product comes with a practical plastic spatula for that, and a comparable tool can be used too. Alphacool says the grease differs from most other thermal pastes in its optimal viscosity, which it credits for what it calls "perfect application".

Features

The viscosity is 3,000,000 mPa.s, a high viscosity that Alphacool says helps with the application and lets the grease be applied optimally. The paste is delivered in a syringe applicator with a screw-on lid. This prevents drying out, because you rarely need the whole 3.5 grams at once: it is sufficient for several applications and the rest can be stored in the applicator. Furthermore, the grease is non-caustic. If a drop should miss, or a small amount is spilled during application, damage to the hardware is highly unlikely.
