The Alphacool Apex RAM X4 Water Cooler - Silver is a RAM water block with two G1/4 threads, and up to four RAM slots can be covered by this X4 cooler. Note: additional Alphacool D-RAM modules are required for the RAM on which the block is mounted, and the box does not hold them.

High-quality RAM cooler
RAM is becoming more and more powerful, so Alphacool calls it advisable to reliably dissipate the resulting waste heat with water. Its reasoning: modern hardware produces more and more of that heat, which makes powerful and reliable cooling essential. The 3 mm thick cooler base of nickel-plated copper is what Alphacool says offers precisely these features. The block is optimized specifically for the latest RAM generation. In combination with the D-RAM modules, Alphacool claims maximum cooling performance for your memory.
Installation
Alphacool describes the installation as straightforward. Per the manual, the RAM modules stand in an upright position and each gets a thermal pad. The pads sit a little distance from the mounting holes, so the holes stay free on both sides. The cooler then goes on top and is fastened with the M3x18mm screws and the Allen key.

Digital aRGB lighting
A total of five aRGB LEDs provide lighting that Alphacool describes as discreet but impressive. Each LED is individually controllable via a corresponding controller or via the mainboard, which opens up many creative possibilities. The ARGB adapter from the box makes that connection.

Notes
- Alphacool's note on application: use the block only with clear, transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can also void the manufacturer's warranty.
