The Alphacool Apex RAM X4 Water Cooler - Black is a RAM water cooler with two G1/4 threads, and up to four RAM slots can be covered by this X4 cooler. Alphacool adds a note: additional Alphacool D-RAM modules are required for the RAM on which the cooler is mounted, and they are not in the box.

High-quality RAM cooler
As RAM is becoming more and more powerful, Alphacool finds it advisable to reliably dissipate the resulting waste heat with a water cooler. Modern hardware produces more and more of that heat, which is why Alphacool calls powerful and reliable cooling essential. The X4 with its 3 mm thick nickel-plated copper cooler base offers precisely these features, in its words. It is optimized specifically for the latest RAM generation. In combination with the D-RAM modules, Alphacool says the cooler offers maximum cooling performance for your memory.
Installation
Alphacool describes installation as straightforward. The manual has the RAM modules placed in an upright position, with a thermal pad on each. Place the pads with a little distance to the mounting holes, to keep the holes free on both sides. Then place the cooler on top and fasten it with the M3x18mm screws and the Allen key.

Digital aRGB lighting
A total of five aRGB LEDs provide lighting that Alphacool describes as discreet but impressive. Each LED is individually controllable, via a corresponding controller or via the mainboard, which opens up many creative possibilities. The ARGB adapter in the box makes the connection.

The cooler has two ports, so it takes two G1/4 compression fittings from our fittings section.

Notes
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
