A fan, pump and aRGB control module for the MO-RA IV 600 external radiator, run from your mainboard over one cable. The Watercool MO-RA IV Passive Control 600 is a complete set. This set holds the control unit for the back of the radiator, the Link module for the PC case, a 1.5 meter main cable, two fan hubs and the cables for assembly.

What the control unit does
Watercool calls the Passive Control module the centerpiece and the ideal control unit for your MO-RA IV radiator, and its standard solution for connecting the radiator electrically to the PC. The PWM and tacho signals are amplified, conditioned and smoothed, and that is how a stable transmission is achieved even over long distances. Watercool says all the prerequisites have been created to achieve maximum performance that way, even over extended periods of time.
The 5 volt rail provides 30 watts of power, generated onboard, and the 12 volt rail provides 120 watts. Both together are limited to 120 watts. This means two D5 pumps, 18 fans and up to three aRGB modules or strips can be operated without any problems.
MO-RA IV “Link”, the control interface
Via the compact link module, the connection between the PC and the MO-RA IV is established. That module is mounted in the PC case and connected to the mainboard, while the passive control module is installed on the back of the radiator. The 1.5 meter long main connection cable then establishes communication between the mainboard or computer and the MO-RA IV unit. To lead that cable neatly out of the case through a slot, Watercool offers the MO-RA IV Control Pass-Through, a slot cover for the optional PCI slot adapter layout.
Every adjustment takes place in the software provided by the respective mainboard manufacturer, for control as well as monitoring. You can monitor one pump signal (on the PUMP1 header) and one fan side of the radiator. The fan side that reports its speed is selected with a toggle switch on the control module. Appropriate lighting has also been taken into account, as up to three aRGB modules can be connected, configured and adjusted in that same mainboard software.
A comprehensive control set
The MO-RA IV control module is delivered as a complete, versatile set: its scope of delivery contains all the components relevant for assembly and installation. A special highlight in Watercool's words is the concealed fan hub: on this version there are two, installed on the underside (bottom) of the radiator, and they enable hidden cabling. The same applies to the main connection cable, which is also optionally available as a 3 meter version.
Overall, only one cable, the main cable, is required for the entire control and monitoring system. The integrated 2-port USB hub (USB 2.0) enables the connection of e.g. USB-supported pumps or other USB devices; it needs an additional USB Type C cable.
