Details
A full-cover water block for the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5090 and its OC Edition. The Watercool HEATKILLER V PRO for RTX 5090 ASUS TUF Ni-Bl aRGB combines a nickel-plated electrolytic copper base with an acrylic cover, black anodized aluminum trim and pre-assembled aRGB lighting. It cools the GPU, the memory and the voltage converters. The backplate is in the box.

Made for one card
According to Watercool, the new HEATKILLER V graphics card coolers for the ASUS RTX 5090 TUF graphics cards represent a consistent further development of its already successful RTX 4090 coolers, optimized for maximum performance. The entire unit was designed specifically around the ASUS RTX 5090 TUF board to achieve high performance. These are the key features of the HK V PRO series:
- Modular Pro-Performance base plate with 60 x 0.25 mm fins
- Dual layer inflow as well as a symmetrical cooling design
- Design-integrated connection threads in a connection module that is screwed to the copper base plate
- A screwless front thanks to a magnetic holding system
- An aRGB board with an improved connector system
Modular Pro-Performance base plate
Watercool says its current PRO Performance base plate, with 60 fins of 0.25 mm, sets the standard for water-cooled graphics card coolers. In its words, the base plate of the Pro version is currently considered the standard in the water cooling sector. The PRO version uses a generously sized cooling surface whose channel geometry gives high flow rates and performance.
All clearances to heat-sensitive components have been reduced to a minimum, ensuring the best possible heat dissipation from thermal problem areas such as the RAM and the voltage converters. Precisely fitting spacers ensure perfect stability and an optimal force distribution between the cooler, the graphics card and the backplate.
Dual layer inflow and symmetrical cooling design
Both are found in the current version of the HEATKILLER V GPU cooler. The increased inflow is particularly important for Watercool's performance base plates. Dividing the water into two levels gives a better flow through the cooler. The symmetrical flow paths were implemented through extensive flow simulations, and they optimize the flow and thus the overall performance of the block.
High-performance thermal pads for GDDR7 RAM
Watercool's development department invested a lot of time in finding the ideal thermal pads for graphics card memory. Watercool says the pad it found lowers the temperatures around the memory compared to the very good standard pads.
Screwless front, easy maintenance
A newly developed magnetic mounting system enables a screwless front design. It also gives quick access for maintenance or for the installation of an aRGB board.
Design-integrated side connection module
For optimal flow and compact dimensions the connection module is part of the design, and it is screwed to the cooler's copper base plate for increased stability. Together with the screwless cover and the included backplate, the cooler appears to be a single unit. Watercool shaped the cooler so that the electronic components of the circuit board are not visible.
Backplate and aRGB in the package
Watercool has completely redesigned how the cooler is assembled. Unlike previous versions, the entire cooling unit now screws to the backplate. That not only simplifies installation but also distributes the contact forces optimally, further increasing cooling performance. In addition to its impressive appearance, the design also achieves better temperatures.
The aRGB board now uses a modular design with a compact plug-in system, and implementing it as a PCB ensures greater durability. Because Watercool's LEDs have high compatibility, the Heatkiller V cooler can be integrated into any lighting concept. The plug-in system also allows the cooler to be used easily without lighting.
Optional accessories
A connection module with side connection threads is also available: the HEATKILLER V Sideport Terminal for ASUS RTX 5090 TUF is a connection terminal with side inputs/outputs. Each port in use takes one G1/4 fitting; see our fittings.
Made in Germany
The block is manufactured with the utmost care on Watercool's state-of-the-art CNC machinery in Waren an der Müritz. Many steps are carried out by hand, and each product is finished according to the four-eyes principle: Made in Germany, as you would imagine.
Compatibility
Watercool lists two boards for this block. The same block also comes in a nickel version with natural anodized trim.
