A modular reservoir series
The HEATKILLER Tube Series is Watercool's modular system of high end reservoirs, all built around a tube made from borosilicate glass. Watercool calls this one a high-end expansion tank in its typical design, made from borosilicate glass, aluminum and acetal. Each part can be exchanged separately later on, so the bottom can be changed when the loop changes. The product information here covers the outstanding features Watercool listed for the series.
Three sizes, three versions
To account for the different space availability in current cases, the glass tubes come in 100 mm, 150 mm and 200 mm. That gives a matching tube for every system from mini-ITX to a big tower, and this is the middle size. Besides this standalone version, there are versions with direct connections for pumps: they support D5 pumps by Lowara (formerly known as Laing, now Xylem) and their derivatives, and original DDC pumps. On those, the pump adapter comes with streaming-optimized pump chambers. Each chamber causes fewer vortices during use, which has a positive effect on both flow rate and air bleeding. With a pump, the same size comes as the HEATKILLER Tube 150 D5 and the HEATKILLER Tube 150 DDC. With black anodized struts in place of the bare ones, this reservoir is the HEATKILLER Tube 150.
Anti-cyclone effect
The exclusively developed anti-cyclone inlay, located at the bottom of the reservoir, prevents the vortices that easily form in reservoirs. Popular high-power pumps such as the D5 and DDC often form a vortex in the suction area of the fluid and suck in air. That reduces the cooling performance and puts air bubbles into the loop. Watercool says its inlay completely prevents this. It also reduces noise levels and makes air bleeding easier.
Borosilicate glass tube
Borosilicate is a glass with very high chemical and thermic resistance. It is scratch-resistant and has very low heat expansion, almost none by Watercool's account. Watercool calls these outstanding features an ideal material for reservoirs.
Large filling mouth and large volume
Thanks to a large filling mouth with a bayonet catch lid, the reservoir can be opened without any tools and is easy to fill: the lid opens with a quarter turn counterclockwise. Watercool says it has never been easier to re-fill a cooling medium. In designing the series, Watercool took great care not to waste any of the available volume. That keeps these reservoirs very low maintenance, because they need fewer re-fills.
Made in Germany
Watercool states that the Tube Series reservoirs are completely produced in Germany, on its own CNC machines in Waren, with many steps done by hand and each product finished under the dual control principle.
What the loop needs
Two G1/4 ports take two fittings for your tube size. This version holds no pump, so the loop needs a pump with its own top.
Extensive optional accessories
The series has various optional features, sold separately. For an optimal integration into a water cooled system, we offer Watercool's variable mounting systems to fit your build:
- Horizontal mount (pedestal): two different height pedestals, the short stand and the long stand, fix the reservoir to the case floor or let it stand free-standing. Each attaches with two countersunk screws, and a decoupling kit for the stand is available.
- Vertical mount: the multifunctional bracket mount of the Basic Mounting Kit offers options for mounting on a flat surface such as the case wall, and several adapters have been made for it.
- Some adapters attach the reservoir to 120x120mm or 140x140mm cooler slots (fan mounts): the 120 mm fan adapter pair and the 140 mm fan adapter pair.
- Others allow mounting the reservoir on a radiator from the MO-RA3 series. For the MO-RA IV there is the MO-RA IV Heatkiller Tube Adapter.
- Illumination: the reservoir can be set in scene with splash-safe LED strips in various colors, RGB or aRGB, hidden in the struts of the reservoir cage. See reservoir lighting.
- Colored struts: to customize the reservoir you can exchange the default bare struts, for example for the black 150 mm struts. The aluminum struts come in natural color, which third parties can anodize in any color, or with a choice of anodized colors (blue or red).

Notes
- Check all seals before the first start-up; with squeezed or damaged O-rings the reservoir must not be used.
- The glass tubes use O-rings of 4 mm or 5 mm to make up for length tolerance. Reuse the same strength you found in your reservoir. Watercool's replacement kit contains both strengths, and the O-rings for the glass tube are in stock as a spare part.
- Drain the reservoir and take it out of the loop completely before you alter it, for example to change the struts or fit an LED strip.
