Interchangeable struts in color

Watercool's colored struts are interchangeable, which makes them an easy way to customize your HEATKILLER Tube Series reservoir. Each one is made of solid aluminum. The colored versions have what Watercool calls a high end anodically oxidized finish, here in black.

Delivery includes four struts in all. One of them is designed to hold a LED strip, which is led through a small opening in that strut and fixed in place. Corresponding LED strips are available separately.

Choose the correct length

Please be careful to choose the strut length that matches your tube. The name of your HEATKILLER Tube Series reservoir tells you its length: a HEATKILLER Tube 150 requires 150mm long struts, like these. This set is compatible with any 150mm HEATKILLER Tube, for example the HEATKILLER Tube 150, the Tube 150 D5 or the Tube 150 DDC. For the 100 mm tube the same black set is the Struts 100mm.

Changing the struts

To swap the struts, the reservoir must come apart. Open the lid with a quarter turn counterclockwise, remove the four M4x12 screws under it and take off the top. Then pull the glass tube out upward without losing its o-rings.

The bottom is fixed to the struts with four more screws. On the standalone version they are directly accessible; on the D5 and DDC versions the pump has to come off first. Reassemble in reverse order, with the o-rings seated correctly and undamaged.

Notes

  • Drain the reservoir and take it out of the loop completely before any change to it.
  • Check all seals before the first start-up. A squeezed or damaged o-ring means the reservoir must not be used until it is replaced.

In the box

  • 1x strut designed for HEATKILLER® Tube 150 LED illumination module
  • 3x strut for HEATKILLER® Tube 150

Watercool's assembly instructions show how to take the reservoir apart, change the struts and fit an LED strip.
