A CPU water block for Intel LGA 2011, 2011-3 and 2066, with a top and a base plate both made from nickel-plated copper. The Watercool HEATKILLER IV PRO (INTEL LGA 20XX) COPPER NI is the PRO version of the block, held by Watercool's tool-free EasyMount system, and takes connections of up to 19 mm.

The HEATKILLER IV series

Watercool counts its HEATKILLER® CPU series among the best-known and most powerful processor water coolers in the world. Since the presentation of the first model in 2001, the model series has been constantly expanded and, in Watercool's word, perfected. The HEATKILLER® IV represents its most comprehensive and latest development. What changed against the previous model:

• Up to 3 °C better temperatures
• More flow from the larger nozzle and collecting channel, resulting in fewer blockages
• A tool-free EasyMount system
• Extra large connections, thanks to 25 mm spacing between the ports

New cooling structure and optimized flow

The cooling structure underwent the biggest overhaul. Here Watercool has given the cooler significantly finer fins on the cold plate, to ensure a larger area and thus better heat dissipation. It made sure to design the slats in such a way that the flow does not suffer.

Compared to its predecessor, the block has dispensed with the separate nozzle plate (the jet plate): its mechanics are integrated directly into the lid. Watercool says the novel design "allowed us to increase performance, improve flow and optimize reliability".

EasyMount and top workmanship

Watercool developed the Easy-Mount system to make assembly as easy as possible. After the initial assembly, the cooler can be assembled or dismantled at any time without tools. The mounting system is enhanced by a fixed stop on the mounting bracket. This means incorrect assembly is therefore virtually impossible.

But the design should also correspond to a product from Watercool. In its words, the best processing technology, garnished with the finest materials, does result in "our Heatkiller IV cooler". In order to present the opulent design in the best possible way, Watercool took customers' wishes into account and considered connection types with up to 19 mm.

The production takes place with the greatest care in Watercool's ultra-modern CNC machine park in Waren-Müritz, Germany. Many work steps are carried out by hand, and each product is brought to perfection according to the four-eye principle: Made in Germany as you would imagine.

What the loop needs

This block has two G1/4 ports, so it takes two fittings, and we stock 3/8" ID x 5/8" OD and 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD compression fittings. Fittings up to 19 mm wide have room on the 25 mm thread spacing. Spare screws come as the Replacement Screw Set for HEATKILLER IV CPU Block (18050). Notes

• Watercool's manual has a page of important information on the orientation of the block on the CPU; read it before you mount.
• The manual's EasyMountSystem page: tighten the studs and knurled nuts evenly and crosswise, with a metal washer between spring and mounting bracket. On socket 2011, 2011-3 and 2066 no plastic washer goes between stud and mainboard.
