The Aquacomputer Retrofit Kit Socket AM5/AM4 for Cuplex Kryos NEXT (21696) moves an existing cuplex kryos NEXT, cuplex kryos NEXT VARIO or cuplex kryos NEXT VISION CPU block onto socket AM5 or AM4 motherboards. Please note: it is not compatible with the acrylic glass version of the block.

What the conversion involves
This set contains all the necessary parts to adapt the block. Two stainless steel mounting plates take the place of the retention plates inside the water block housing. The kit also includes four knurled screws as its suitable set of mounting material.
To swap the plates, undo the four screws of the base part and lift it off the block. Under it, the set screws sit in the outlying threads: remove them, then pull the old retention plates out of the housing. The new plates slide into the same recesses, and the set screws go back into the outlying threads to hold them.
A gasket that came away from the housing during disassembly goes back into its groove, lined up exactly with it. Last, set the base part on the housing and fasten it with the countersunk head screws taken out at the start.
What you need to convert it
The set holds only the mounting parts, so it needs a cuplex kryos NEXT you already own. Mounting the converted block on the motherboard follows the installation steps of the water block itself. With the acrylic glass version of the block, use the retrofit kit for the acrylic glass version (21697) instead. Complete blocks are in our AMD CPU blocks section.
Notes
- Tighten the set screws only slightly, by hand. Too much force may warp and damage the water block housing, the acetal version most of all.
- The base part screws are also tightened by hand, without excessive force.
