Details
The Aquacomputer Replacement Pump Motor for D5 NEXT Pump is the pump motor for the D5 NEXT without its controller. The controller unit is not included in delivery; this pump motor can not be used without a D5 NEXT controller unit and is not compatible with other controllers.

Laing D5 mechanics
The D5 NEXT is based on the Laing/Lowara/Xylem D5vario pump, and Laing/Lowara/Xylem manufactures the stainless steel top with ceramic ball, the pump rotor and part of the electronics and housing. In the shaftless spherical motor, the hemispherical rotor/impeller unit rests on an ultra-hard, wear-resistant ceramic ball. Aquacomputer says the bearing play does not change even after prolonged use, because the bearing is self adjusting, so the pump keeps running at a constantly low noise level.
What it needs
The motor runs only with a D5 NEXT controller unit, such as the replacement controller (41127) or the one from an existing D5 NEXT pump (41118). The controller pulls straight off the motor unit and fits back in one given orientation only, with no power supplied to the pump. The motor also needs a compatible top/cover or reservoir, held by a fixation ring slid over the motor, for example the ULTITOP pump top (41123). More are in our D5 pump tops section.
Notes
- During operation the impeller must point upwards or to the side relative to the controller unit, never hanging downwards.
- Use Double Protect Ultra coolant or water only. Solid micro particles in various opaque coolants damage the D5 pump bearing.
- The pump is not a suction pump and is not suited for dry operation: fill the pump chamber before running it.
Aquacomputer's manual for the D5 NEXT is an English PDF with the installation steps and every menu of the pump.
