Details
The Aquacomputer Aqualis ECO 880 mL Reservoir is a tube reservoir that holds approx. 880 ml, with G1/4 connection threads and a borosilicate glass tube between a Delrin base and top. It has no pump or pump top.
Properties
- Capacity
- approx. 880 ml
- Ports
- G1/4, center and lateral in the base, four in the lid
- Tube
- borosilicate glass, 75 mm outer diameter
- Pump
- none, for a separate pump
Borosilicate glass tube
Every reservoir of the aqualis series is equipped with a borosilicate glass tube, where tube reservoirs often use acrylic glass. In contrast, Aquacomputer says, borosilicate glass is extremely hard and scratch-resistant and features superb thermal and chemical resistance with a very low thermal expansion. Here the tube is 75 mm across with a wall thickness of 5 mm; the 100 ml and 150 ml variants use one of 50 mm.
Fountain effect or lateral return
Base and top are made from Delrin and connected by a stainless steel tube. With the return line on the center connector, the water rises through that tube and is ejected at the top through eight nozzles. A thin acrylic plate near the bottom, pre-installed, keeps air ingestion low.
Alternatively, return line and suction line both go to the lateral connectors, so the water exits directly from the base part. The acrylic plate then comes out, and the stainless steel deflector plate from the box is installed above the return channel to effectively remove air from the water circuit. A supplied sealing screw closes the unused thread in either setup. An M6 thread in the base part lets some coolant flow straight into the reservoir for easier filling.
ECO, PRO and XT variants
This ECO version has neither the acrylic window nor the LED mounting of its siblings. The aqualis PRO 450/880 ml variants additionally feature both, with room for up to six LEDs (5 mm size) in the base part, and can be upgraded with a fill level sensor later.
The XT variants have an electronic fill level sensor built in, with USB and aquabus interface, a programmable alarm output and an external temperature sensor input. The aquasuite software for monitoring and configuration can be downloaded free of charge. In addition to USB, the 4-pin aquabus interface can directly connect the sensor to an aquaero 5 or 6 controller (not included in delivery). The alarm output can be configured as an rpm signal for a fan connector with fault detection (for example motherboard fan headers), or used as a switched output, for example to connect a LED. Fill level and the temperature input, which is compatible with all Aqua Computer temperature sensors, can each raise an alarm.
Many reservoirs are also available with pump top adapters and pumps pre-installed, and most variants with a nano coating that will cause water to roll off the inner surface of the glass.
What the loop needs
Fittings are not included in delivery: each connector you use takes a G1/4 fitting from our fittings section. Connectors with a larger outer diameter than the recesses below need suitable extensions. The coolant is moved by a separate pump from our pumps section.
Technical details
| Dimensions without stainless steel bracket | approx. 80 x 80 x 290 mm |
| Filling volume | approx. 880 ml |
| Connection threads | G1/4 |
| Recess around connection threads of the base part | Diameter 25 mm, depth 6 mm (center) / 18 mm (lateral) |
| Recess around connection threads of the lid | Diameter 26 mm, depth 3 mm |
Notes
- The lid has four holes including sealing screws, even where a product photo shows otherwise.
- The top unscrews counter-clockwise and goes back on by hand with moderate force, no tools. Take care not to lose the gaskets, and seat them properly in their grooves.
- Screws in the plastic base part take light force only.
In the box
- 1x Reservoir
- Hardware and Accessories
- 1x stainless steel bracket
- 1x stainless steel deflector plate
- 2x sealing screws G1/4 (preinstalled)
The installation manual covers disassembly, both return line setups and the bracket.
