The Alphacool NexXxos ST30 Industry HPC Series 240mm Radiator is a 240 mm radiator for two 120 mm fans, 30 mm thick, with two G1/4 threads (IN/OUT). Fans mount on one side or on both, two one-sided or four both-sided.

The Industry HPC radiator is pressure tested up to 5 Bar (72 PSI), for demanding or industrial applications. Its maximum working temperature is 60 °C.

Full copper

Alphacool says the new NexXxos radiators are the first to truly deserve the "Full copper" attribute. All main parts are made from copper: not only the fins and channels, but the chambers also. In Alphacool's view this brings an improvement in performance where other radiators are left without a chance. Its data sheet lists a high water flow rate and efficient heat transfer, an optimal fin structure, and 100% of the internal structure made of copper. The threads are brass and the outer housing is stainless steel.

Chambers and flow

On this model Alphacool describes split channel heads that clearly show the path of the cooling fluid, and an interior structurally at the same level as radiators from other manufacturers. A flat end chamber shortens the total length, which leaves more free space in the installation. Alphacool adds that a high flow rate raises the cooling power of the whole system. The range also has X-Flow radiators, which in structure differentiate materially from the standard radiators and are designed for high flow rates. Their beveled copper chambers on both sides have an identical structure. There the water goes jetting through all available channels at the same time to the other chamber, from which it then leaves the radiator. The X-Flow radiator in this size and thickness is the ST30 Full Copper X-Flow 240mm.

Mounting

Versatile and easy mounting is one of the main points on which the research and development department at Alphacool focused. On the thicker radiators of the series the chamber offers three possibilities for fitting installation on both inlet and outlet, but not on the NexXxos ST30. With three to choose from, less angled fittings are needed, improving flow rates and offering more mounting possibilities. Alphacool says such a radiator can even be installed in cases where an internal installation would otherwise not be possible. This radiator is an ST30, with two G1/4 threads in all. The 1/4 inch ventilation screw that Alphacool describes for easy ventilation and problem-free vertical installation is on all NexXxos UT60 and NexXxos Monsta radiators only. According to Alphacool the threads can even be used for filling, for example in combination with a fill port. Even mounting and installation of fans and radiator grills is easy and versatile with these radiators, Alphacool adds. The M3 threads are standard in the radiator sector, and M3 screws are available in all lengths at an affordable price.

Screw protection

Here the dreaded insertion of a screw too far into the radiator does not result in expensive damage. Unlike other radiators, Alphacool says, the NexXxos series is equipped with an internal protective ledge which stops the screw before it damages the fins.

Fin spacing and fans

Alphacool calls fin spacing always an important factor in radiator design, and says the fin design of the new series allows it to perform extremely well even with slow-spinning and medium-speed fans. That is pleasant thanks to the fact that it avoids unnecessary noise. It also means that the choice of fans that can be used with these radiators is not restricted.

The NexXxos series

Alphacool's starting point: every user of a water cooling system needs a radiator, and everyone has different requirements toward the heat exchanger. Of course the customer always demands the best in its class, it says. Alphacool's claim is that these radiators have come to compete with and to beat the best in their class and to be the best radiator in all sizes. It promises no more endless choices without a clear class leader and calls the series "the one tool for all your cooling needs". Alphacool also says it has been the company to introduce new developments and improvements in the radiator and water cooling sector generally, many times over the last years. Following this tradition, here, too, it provides the popular sizes of the 120mm series, and its current page lists versions for 120mm, 140mm or 180mm fans. Different thicknesses, 30 mm, 45 mm and 60 mm, underscore the broad spectrum that these radiators cover. In Alphacool's summary they are the result of experience and powerful performance meeting future-oriented design and well-thought through solutions.

What the loop needs

Two G1/4 threads, so the loop takes two G1/4 fittings, each with a thread no longer than 5 mm. The radiator holds two 120 mm fans per side on M3 threads. The M3x30 and M3x35 fan screws in the box, 8 of each, come with an Allen key. The Industry HPC radiator for three 120 mm fans per side is the Industry HPC Series 360mm.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can also void the manufacturer's warranty.
