Alphacool G1/4 13mm Knurled HardTube Compression Fitting - Chrome (17188)

The Alphacool G1/4 13mm Knurled HardTube Compression Fitting - Chrome is a screw-on fitting with a G1/4 thread for hard tubes with an outer diameter of 13 mm, one fitting per pack. It is suitable for all hard metal or plexi tubes of that size, and the standard thread is on the other side of the connector. Alphacool lists it as the HT 13mm HardTube screw-on nozzle, also called a screw sleeve.

How it seals

Alphacool says these connections promise absolute tightness and the highest quality, and calls the fittings it has created a triumph. The union nut goes on the tube first, then a plastic washer that protects the O-ring, then the thick O-ring itself. Push the tube into the fitting body, where a second O-ring is already sitting and fits very tightly against the tube. As the last step, push the union nut onto the body and screw it on. Alphacool notes that, due to its size, the union nut cannot be screwed on tightly enough on its own. An 8 mm hexagon key can be inserted from below to hold the fitting in place while you tighten.
