The Alphacool Carbon HardTube 13mm 4x 80cm is a pack of four black hard tubes made of carbon (CFRP), each 80 cm long with a 13 mm outer and 10 mm inner diameter. These tubes cannot be bent: every run is sawed to length and joined with fittings.

An alternative to clear tube
HardTubes are very popular with those who prefer clear and clean lines in their computer and choose them for tubing the water circuit. The majority are clear and transparent. With this one Alphacool offers what it calls an interesting alternative to the common variants made of PETG or acrylic.
Material
The material is CFRP, a carbon laminate. Alphacool says its smooth surface and the structure of the laminate give every water cooling system a unique appearance.
Assembly
For the exact installation, saw each tube to the appropriate length. Alphacool says you should use a pit saw that is suitable for processing carbon (CFRP) to do this, and a saw jig is advisable to ensure straight cut edges. When shortening the tubes, care must be taken to smooth the cut edges with a fine file or sandpaper, as sharp edges can damage the O-rings of fittings. After assembly the tubes should be rinsed for cleaning, and it is best to use distilled water for this purpose.
What a run needs
A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end. Alphacool names its Eiszapfen HardTubes fittings of the appropriate size as suitable for connecting the tubes: they are in our 13mm hard tube fittings section. Corners need angled fittings, since the tube itself stays straight.

Notes
- Note from Alphacool: when working on the carbon tubes (sawing & filing), it is important to wear protective equipment. Safety glasses, an FFP2 mask and gloves are advisable here.
- In addition, work on the tubes should only be carried out in well-ventilated rooms or outdoors.
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
