The problem it solves
Alphacool presents the new Eiszapfen PRO HardTube fittings as a further development of the well-known, previous Eiszapfen. When developing them, the company concentrated on one particular problem: the deformation of PETG hard tubes at high temperatures. By Alphacool's figure, these can deform at as little as 60 °C. Although such a temperature is rarely reached, it can still occur. This fitting prevents the problem from the outset and keeps the tubes in position.
How it holds the tube
Deformation is prevented by the new nylon inserts on the inside, a design which stabilizes the hard tubes. Furthermore, an O-ring and a compression seal are still part of the fitting. The contact area, however, spreads over a much larger surface than with normal O-rings, which Alphacool says ensures a better hold. Through the use of the insert and the compression seal in the screw connection, the tube is reinforced from the inside and the outside.
Alphacool states that the HardTube does not slip even under higher loads. It has tested the tensile strength of up to 8 kg, so there is no need to worry about this.
What a run needs
A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end. Each fitting screws into a G1/4 port and takes PETG, acrylic, brass and glass tubes; tubes to match are in our 16mm hard tubing section.

Notes
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
