The Alphacool Eiszapfen PRO 16mm HardTube Fitting G1/4 - Chrome is a compression fitting with a G1/4 thread for hard tubes with an outer diameter of 16 mm, one fitting per pack. Please note: the fitting is not recommended for use with Bitspower brand tubing.

What the PRO changes
Alphacool presents the new Eiszapfen PRO HardTube fittings as a further development of the well-known, previous Eiszapfen. When developing them, it concentrated on one particular problem: the deformation of PETG hard tubes at high temperatures. Alphacool says these can deform at as little as 60 °C. Such a temperature is rarely reached, although it can still occur. The PRO prevents this problem from the outset and keeps the tubes in position.
How it holds the tube
Deformation is prevented by the new nylon inserts on the inside, which stabilizes the hard tubes. Furthermore, the fitting still has an O-ring and a compression seal. However, the seal spreads over a contact area that is much larger than with normal O-rings, which Alphacool says ensures a better hold. Through the use of the insert and the compression seal in the screw connection, the tube is reinforced from the inside and outside. The HardTube does not slip even under higher loads: Alphacool has tested the tensile strength of up to 8kg. So, in its words, there is no need to worry about this.
What a run needs
The fitting screws into a G1/4 port and takes one end of a 16 mm hard tube, so a tube run takes two fittings. Tubes to match are in our 16mm hard tubing section.

Notes
- Alphacool asks for clear, transparent water cooling fluids only. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
