The Alphacool Eisrohr 16/13mm Hardline Tubing - Plexi (PMMA) Satin 80cm - 4pcs is satin acrylic hard tube with a 16 mm outer and 13 mm inner diameter. It is sold as a set of four 80 cm tubes (320 cm in all). The surface is frosted instead of clear, so the tube has the appearance of ice.

The ice look

Alphacool says HardTubes enjoy great popularity and that it is constantly offering new products in this area. Anyone who wants to see clear, clean lines in their computer can hardly go without them. If you want that look with a softer light, this is the tube. The most popular HardTubes are clear and transparent, and those made of brass and carbon are also catching on. Now the “Eisrohr” (ice tube) sits under Alphacool's “Eis” product line. Its surface gives off the look of ice and feels like it too: somewhat rough, but still smooth.

In a lit system

The tube effectively changes the look of your system, and you can especially see its true effects after refilling, when the water looks like frosted ice. With clear tubes in a system lit by LEDs, you see the reflection of each individual LED very clearly. Not so here. Instead the light is diffused, and Alphacool says you get a softer, better illumination.

Notice on bending

Like all acrylic HardTubes, this one can be bent with the proper bending tools. However, bending will noticeably change the appearance of the tubes at the bends, and it no longer creates the same optical effect there. That can be used to create different effects. If you wish to keep the satin look, appropriate connectors should be used in place of bending.

What a run needs

Each run takes two fittings for hard tube with a 16 mm outer diameter, one at each end, from our 16mm OD hard tube fittings section. Alphacool's technical details give the material as PMMA (acrylic) and the length as 80 cm.

• Alphacool's note on application: use the tube only with clear, transparent water cooling fluids.
