What the PRO changes

The Eiszapfen PRO hard tube fittings are what Alphacool presents as the next step in development for the familiar Eiszapfen fittings. In the development it concentrated on a specific problem: deforming PETG hard tubes at high temperatures. Alphacool says PETG can start to deform at as little as 60 °C. Such a temperature is usually rarely reached, although it can still occur. The PRO fittings prevent this problem from the outset and hold the tubes in position.

How it holds the tube

The deformation is prevented by the new nylon inserts inside, a part that also stabilizes the hard tubes. Furthermore, the fitting still has an O-ring and a compression seal. However, the seal spreads over a contact area that is much larger than with normal O-rings, which Alphacool says provides a better grip. With the insert and the compression seal in the screw connection, the tube is strengthened from the inside and outside. The HardTube does not slip even under heavy loads: Alphacool has tested the tensile strength of up to 8kg. So, in its words, there is no need to worry about loose tubing.

What a run needs

Each fitting screws into a G1/4 port and takes one end of a 13 mm hard tube, so a tube run takes two fittings. You will find all the tubes to match in our 13mm hard tubing section.
