The Alphacool Eiswand 360 Solo - Black is an external 360mm full-copper radiator with six Eiswind fans, an illuminated reservoir and two DC-LT pumps built in. NOTICE: this is the Solo version of the Alphacool Eiswand. Any accessories included with the Eiswand 360 CPU All In One External Cooling System (Art. no. 1013154), other than the power supply and silent adapter, are NOT included with this item.

Alphacool describes the Eiswand as its complete water cooling set for your CPU, and the external radiator is the core component. It is equipped with six fans, built to operate in Push&Pull configuration, which Alphacool says is to guarantee optimal radiator ventilation. For Alphacool this means the system's cooling power is very high, enough for any combination of CPU and GPU. It also says copper offers double the heat capacity of the aluminum often used in cheap systems. According to the manual, 2 filters ensure that no dust impairs the cooling performance.

Reservoir

The reservoir sits directly on the radiator. There, the large viewing window lets the fill level be checked easily, and a fill port on the upper surface makes it easy to fill the loop. The manual calls it an integrated expansion tank, where the air bubbles can escape from the system. Spare parts are the nylon replacement reservoir and the black replacement top.

Pumps

The bottom of the Eiswand, which Alphacool calls elegant and which is likewise illuminated, contains the two silent pumps. They are also used in several of Alphacool's other systems, for example in the Alphacool Eisbaer, often praised for its low noise level. Alphacool puts the pumps' capacity so high that even if one of them fails there is no noticeable loss of cooling power. One pump is strong enough to keep a simple cooling loop going, which Alphacool says guarantees top-level security for your whole system. The manual adds that the pumps are connected in series and work very quietly and with low vibration.

Silent adapter

The Silent Adapter 7.5V also allows for nearly noiseless operation. It severely restricts the pumps and fans, but only slightly diminishes the cooling power.

What the loop needs

The IN and OUT ports have G1/4 threads, so the unit takes two fittings. A CPU water block, tube and coolant complete the loop. The manual says to connect the outlet (OUT) of the CPU cooler to the inlet (IN) of the external radiator. It shows two ways to power the unit: a 4Pin cable to the power supply of the PC, or alternatively the external power supply unit.

Fill in the coolant with a funnel through the filling port until about two thirds of the container is filled. Alphacool's funnel (art. no. 17706) is not included in the scope of delivery. Pour in some more during operation until the level remains constant; the manual gives approx. 750ml as the amount required. Unusually loud pumps mean air in the system: carefully move and swing the radiator back and forth to let it escape.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
• The manual's caution for every fitting: do not use tools, only tighten up hand-tight.
