Alphacool ES Orbiter 360 TS (11932)

The Alphacool ES Orbiter 360 TS is an external cooling system designed for industrial use. It holds a third-generation VPP755 pump, a 445 ml expansion tank and a total of 360mm of radiator with three 120mm fans. Alphacool says it can dissipate waste heat of up to 1300 watts at an ambient temperature of 23 °C.

Powerful Cooling

Cooling is provided by two HPE-30 NexXxoS Full Copper radiators, one 120mm and one 240mm, for a total of 360mm cooling surface. Both have a thickness of 30mm and are used in the HPE variant, which has a compact, condensed structure of the cooling channels. As a result more coolant flows through the radiator, and Alphacool says the cooling performance is significantly improved. Three of Alphacool's in-house Core 120mm fans ensure optimal ventilation of the radiators, and Alphacool credits them with a long life expectancy. Their nominal speed is 2500 rpm. Alphacool sums the system up as compact and powerful.

Monitoring

The fans and pump are controlled and monitored by the ES Guardian Powerfan Hub. The hub sounds an alarm if the components fail. The temperature can be checked on the front of the Orbiter with the color display, which shows the information optionally in °C or Fahrenheit. Also on the front is the level indicator, which can be used to determine the liquid level in the system.

Compact Design

The housing is kept clean and simple, with two recessed handles on the left and right that make it easy to lift. The Alphacool Eisfach serves as the expansion tank (the reservoir) and contains the VPP755 pump. Alphacool says that, thanks to the pump, almost any circuit can be operated reliably. Refilling the coolant is easy because the fill port is located on the top, and the system can be easily vented via the adjacent valve. The inlet and outlet of the water connections are on the back of the Orbiter, as is the power connection.

What the loop needs

The inlet and outlet are two G1/4 threads, and installing the water connections there is the manual's first step. Fittings are not on the box list: pick them to match your tube in our fittings section. Fill coolant through the fill port with the funnel in the box, because the manual says not to operate the Orbiter without coolant. It starts as soon as it is connected to the power supply. During first commissioning the filling level may drop as air escapes from the individual components, so watch it and refill if necessary. The TPV (EPDM) hose has a service temperature of -50 °C to 155 °C.

Faults the manual covers

Noticeable pump noises mean air in the system or missing coolant: open the vent port and refill. If the warning signal sounds, the pump or a fan has failed. A temperature that is too high points to an impeded air supply, or to more power to be cooled than the Orbiter can dissipate. The manual's answer is to clean the ventilation from dust, reduce the power of the heat sources or connect a second Orbiter.

• Please note: only use the Orbiter in conjunction with clear, transparent water cooling liquids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. This can result in the manufacturer's warranty also becoming void.
