A sheet of ice
Eisschicht is German for "ice sheet". Alphacool calls the pad its ultimate solution: it lets you cool your computer with a sheet of ice. It is not an ice sheet in the conventional sense, made of frozen water, but one that Alphacool says brings every chip down to freezing. By its account the properties of these new thermal pads speak for themselves, and Alphacool calls the pad powerful and reliable. Within the Eisschicht range, the light version is the one Alphacool itself calls "small and weak" at 7W/mK, but definitely strong enough.
Where it goes
The pad offers all the benefits and typical qualities of a thermal pad: it is self-adhesive, elastic and flexible, and much more, Alphacool adds. The options for placement are just as varied. Whether on RAM or motherboard coolers, or on graphics card and CPU coolers, any place where chips meet cooler bodies is a good place for it. Alphacool says any hardware components can now be put together neatly and easily with thermal pads.
Sizes and thicknesses
The Eisschicht Light, with its performance level of 7W/mK, is available in three thicknesses: 0.5mm, 1mm, and 1.5mm. Alphacool calls that choice perfect for leveling height differences. Each thickness is also available in 100x100mm and 120x20mm sizes, the strip being the one suitable for RAM coolers. This strip is the 1.5mm one. The same strip is in stock in 1mm and 0.5mm, and the 100x100mm sheet in 0.5mm and 1mm.
Cutting it to fit
The pads can easily be cut with scissors to get the right size for any component.
