Details
The Alphacool Core Geforce RTX 5090 Gaming + Windforce with Backplate is a GPU water block for Gigabyte's GeForce RTX 5090 GAMING OC and WINDFORCE graphics cards with an Nvidia chip. Alphacool's list for it also names the WINDFORCE OC, the AORUS MASTER and the AORUS MASTER ICE. A chrome-plated copper block under an acrylic top cools the card, and the aluminum backplate is in the box.

Compatibility
Alphacool lists these cards for this block:
- Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 MASTER 32G (GV-N5090AORUS M-32GD)
- Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 5090 MASTER ICE 32G (GV-N5090AORUSM ICE-32GD)

- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 WINDFORCE OC 32G (GV-N5090WF3OC-32GD)
The block was designed for one PCB layout, and card makers sometimes revise a board so that a cooler no longer fits later models. Before ordering, compare your card and its model number with the pictures in Alphacool's GPU configurator, or look it up in its Compatibility List for Nvidia cards. Alphacool's list also names a 1-slot block for these cards, the ES Geforce RTX 5090 Gaming 1-Slot Design.
Copper block and terminal
In the center of the cooler sits a copper block milled from a single piece. It is complemented by a precisely manufactured brass connection terminal with a nylon cover. Alphacool says the chrome plating makes the copper cooler more resistant and ensures a smoother, brighter surface than conventional nickel plating. The series continues to rely on high-quality brass connections, which Alphacool says guarantee optimal quality and safety.
Design and lighting
Alphacool presents this block among its new graphics card water coolers for the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX generation, and they are part of the Core product series. Alphacool has only slightly changed the visual design of the GPU water cooler. Its special highlight is the newly added Core emblem above the jet plate. It underlines the fact that the block belongs to the series, and it visually enhances the design. The backplate is specially adapted to the board, covers the entire back of the copper cooler and ensures a clear and uniform look. In combination with the aRGB lighting, the acrylic enables uniform and impressive lighting of the entire cooler.
Flow and testing
Technically, Alphacool says, the cooler has been completely redesigned. The distances between the cooler and the components of the PCB were redefined and tested to optimize the cooling performance. The water flow was simulated using what Alphacool calls the latest software, then verified in practical tests. These extensive tests made it possible to improve the cooler base and the jetplate, the block's nozzle. Alphacool's claim for the series is that these coolers combine the highest quality with exceptional performance. Thanks to an optimized technical design, it says, they offer outstanding cooling performance, in order to ensure the best possible cooling for this generation.
What the loop needs
The block has four G1/4 threads. Two take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box, and the other two take the two plugs that are. The lighting connects through a 3-Pin JST plug, and an ARGB adapter is included. Thermal pads, thermal grease, a putty tool, a plug tool, a screwdriver and the PCIe bracket also come with the block.

Notes
- Alphacool asks that the block be used only with clear transparent water cooling fluids. It warns that the particles and additives in Pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, and that this can void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Remove the original cooler on an antistatic mat and clean the card of thermal paste and pad residues before fitting the block.
- The manual has the IO shield go back on with the card's original screws.
