The Alphacool ES Geforce RTX 5090 Gaming 1-Slot Design is a GPU water block for Gigabyte graphics cards with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 chip. They are the GAMING OC, the WINDFORCE OC, the AORUS MASTER and the AORUS MASTER ICE. It is a 1-slot cooler for server cases and workstations, with both ports at the rear, and the carbon backplate is in the box.

1-slot design for servers and workstations

Alphacool is expanding its Enterprise series with the latest 1-slot water coolers for the current Nvidia GeForce RTX generation. It says these solutions are specifically designed for use in server cases and workstations and enable efficient cooling, even in densely populated systems. By using a thin and extremely stable carbon plate, Alphacool could design this cooler as a 1-slot cooler without compromising on the copper block. The brass connectors are located at the rear. Combined with the thin plate, that means multiple coolers can be easily stacked on top of each other or side by side in the server case. Alphacool calls this a sophisticated design that saves space, simplifies tubing and enables seamless integration into the water circuit.

Copper and chrome plating

For all water-carrying parts, high-quality copper is used. Alphacool describes it as offering almost twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum. Furthermore, the copper is chrome-plated instead of nickel-plated, which it says is providing additional protection for the cooler. It describes the chrome plating as more resistant to acids, scratches and other damage, effectively preventing coating chipping.

Flow and testing

Technically, Alphacool says, the GPU water cooler has been completely redesigned. To optimize cooling performance, it redefined and tested the gaps between the cooler and the PCB components. The water flow was simulated using what Alphacool calls state-of-the-art software, and the results were verified in practical tests. Those extensive tests enabled improvements to the cooler base and nozzle. The aim was to ensure the best possible cooling performance for the new generation.

What the loop needs

The block has two G1/4 connections in a brass terminal at the rear. Both take the compression fittings for your tube size, which are not in the box. Thermal pads, thermal grease, a putty tool, the PCIe bracket and the screws are included.
