The Alphacool Core Distro Plate 240 Left D5/DDC V.2 with D5 Apex Pump is a 240mm acrylic distribution plate with Alphacool's VPP Apex pump included and the pump top on the left. It can be mounted on the radiator or the panel of the case. The V.2 plate is available in 240mm or 360mm versions, each with left or right positioning of the pump top: we stock the 240 Right, the 360 Left and the 360 Right.

Core Design

The core element of Alphacool's Core Design series is the chrome-plated G1/4 brass fittings. On this plate these are directly embedded in the acrylic, which Alphacool credits with effectively eliminating the risk of leaks caused by cracking. The fittings are two-piece and equipped with O-rings, and their parts interlock within the acrylic. Alphacool describes the result as ensuring maximum sealing and a clean, high-quality appearance.

The V.2 platform

Alphacool calls the V.2 the ideal solution for custom water cooling systems. It says the redesigned platform offers significantly greater installation flexibility and simplifies the planning, assembly, and maintenance of even complex water loops. Thanks to its reduced depth and an optimized arrangement of the G1/4 fittings, the Distro Plate allows for particularly short and clean tubing runs. For draining, a side drain port also enables easy and controlled emptying of the loop. Alphacool says this makes the plate ideal for custom water loops that simultaneously cool the CPU and one or more graphics cards.

Material and lighting

The plate is made of what Alphacool calls high-quality acrylic glass, so it offers a clear view of the coolant. The integrated digital aRGB lighting provides what Alphacool describes as a brilliant display of colors. It can be controlled via a digital aRGB header on the motherboard or optionally via the Alphacool Aurora Eiscontrol aRGB controller (part no. 15360).

Pump

Thanks to a redesigned pump bracket, either VPP/D5 or DDC pumps can be installed. The technical data below lists VPP/D5 under pump compatibility. The included VPP Apex features a ceramic shaft and an optimized motor design, resulting, according to Alphacool, in exceptionally quiet, low-vibration, and efficient operation. Speed control is achieved via the 4-pin PWM connector, which connects to the motherboard or to an external controller. The pump is powered via a SATA connector from the power supply.

Mounting

The Core Push Mounting Kit is included. Alphacool says this significantly simplifies installation, ensures a secure fit of the distribution plate to the case panel or radiator, and allows for easy removal for maintenance or upgrades. Push mounting adds to the H dimension: 34.50 mm becomes 62.30 mm for the plate alone, and 62.20 mm becomes 88.80 mm with the pump.

What the loop needs

The pump, its O-ring, the four M4x22 pump screws, an Allen key and a plug tool are in the box. Each of the eight G1/4 ports you use takes one compression fitting from our fittings range. Three G1/4 plugs are included for the ports left over, and more are under Plug & Stop Fittings. The pump needs a 4-pin PWM header and a SATA power connector, and the lighting a 5V digital aRGB header, with an ARGB adapter in the box.
