The Alphacool Cape Corp Coolplex HF Metal 10 - Chrome is a tube reservoir with a capacity of 80 ml and no pump, 49 x 49 x 117 mm in size. Its base and top are made completely out of brass, and it has five G1/4 threads. The next size up is the HF Metal 15 in chrome.

Brass base and top
Alphacool calls this the first reservoir from its range which has both ends in brass and also has the Lighttower water effect. The base and top are both solid nickel-plated brass: a reservoir in elegant brass, which Alphacool says creates a uniquely elegant look in your computer. In its words the reservoir doesn't get its good looks from various gimmicks, but rather from its simplicity and the materials used.

And yet there is still one optical highlight, which Alphacool says has become virtually essential to the Alphacool Series, and it is included here too. The streams of water coming sideways out of the riser pipe hit the transparent Plexiglas (acryl glass) of the tube, creating what Alphacool describes as a unique fountain effect that changes at every flow rate. If you'd rather not use the water effect, simply fill the reservoir past the riser pipe.
What the loop needs
The reservoir features two options for connecting both the inlet and outlet: on the side of the base or directly underneath it. Either way gives you different options for setting up your system the way you want it. Two of the five threads are used and the other three take the sealing plugs in the box. A pump is not part of this reservoir, so the loop needs its own, plus two fittings from our fittings section.
You can also pass the water into the reservoir through its top, though Alphacool warns that this setup does have some disadvantages. It means going without the fountain, and of course that air will enter the cooling loop when it is switched off.
Mounting
Alphacool says the included clip-on brackets make installation a cinch. Each bracket is simply screwed in at the desired place with an M4 screw, and the brackets come with their screws and nuts. If your case doesn't have holes in the right places, you can simply drill those in. After that the reservoir just needs to be clipped on. When it is at the desired height, the clips can be fastened to hold the reservoir in place. Alphacool's verdict: it doesn't get any easier than that.
Sizes and colors
The HF Metal is available in Chrome and Deep Black versions, and Alphacool also carries three different sizes. From the extremely compact Metal 10 to the medium Metal 15 up to the expansive Metal 25, you choose the right version to fit your unique system.

Notes
- Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
