Details

The Alphacool Cape Corp Coolplex Pro 10 LT is a tube reservoir with no pump of its own, 100 mm high and 50 mm in diameter, with POM end pieces and G1/4 threads. The tube is Plexiglas and the riser tube inside it is removable. The larger size is the Coolplex Pro 25 LT.

The LT series

Alphacool says its Cape Corp reservoirs have been well-known and popular on the water cooling market for years. In its words, even such great products can sometimes use an update to fulfill the most recent demands. Hence the people at Alphacool let the old series run out to introduce the new series in two versions. "LT" has POM end pieces, and the "Copper Edition" has solid metal end pieces. This reservoir is the LT. The tubes are of course made from what Alphacool calls high-grade Plexiglas (acrylic glass), which it says has proven itself with safe operation in many cooling systems.

What changed

Alphacool describes the changes as subtle but very well thought through. Besides the new materials and surface finishes, the top piece of the reservoirs is now equipped with an additional thread, making them great for installation of a Fillport, as Alphacool puts it. Additionally, the reservoir can now also be installed horizontally. The riser tube, normally intended for venting the system, can be unscrewed for applications where the top of the reservoir is used as an inlet. A nice side effect, says Alphacool: now even more lighting modules can be installed for beautiful lighting effects. To round off the new concept, the screw plugs on all versions have what Alphacool calls an elegant polished copper surface finish.

What the loop needs

For maximum compatibility all threads are G1/4 in size, so the reservoir takes any of the G1/4 fittings we stock. Two G1/4 caps are in the box for threads you leave unused. The reservoir comes without a pump, so the loop needs one.

Mounting

The proven transparent mounts are included again for almost invisible mounting. Alphacool notes that additional screws are required for assembly and recommends its item number 46023. Alphacool says the new Cape Coolplex reservoirs make your PC a piece of art, an eye-catcher when illuminated by an LED.

Notes

  • Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.

In the box

  • 1x Reservoir
  • 2x retaining clips
  • 2x G1/4 caps

Alphacool's 3D model of this reservoir is an STP file, and the 3D viewer shows it from every side.
