Highlights

Alphacool's three highlights are a super easy installation, 15 RGB LEDs for perfect lighting, and that the frame is compatible with all standard RGB controllers. It describes users of the cooler who are looking for the perfect lighting for their block as the people it has in mind.

Installation and lighting

The frame simply slides over the cooler and is then connected to the RGB controller. The LEDs are evenly distributed over the XPX Eisblock, and with what Alphacool calls an impressive 15 of them it considers perfect lighting guaranteed.

The controller lets you change not only the colors, but also add color effects like gradients, blinking, slow color changes, and much more. Alphacool's current list names overflows and flashing for the same effects. Many controllers also include a dimmer function. In Alphacool's words the frame leaves nothing to be desired and is an all-rounder in RGB lighting.

What the lighting needs

The frame is lighting only: it needs the Eisblock XPX cooler it sits on and a 12V RGB source. Alphacool says the 4-pin connector makes all its RGB products compatible with the common RGB sync technologies of the well-known motherboard manufacturers, and names ASUS, MSI and GIGABYTE among them. Without such a header, a standard controller from our RGB controllers does the job.
