Alphacool Aurora XPX Digital RGB Frame - Chrome (12943)

This Alphacool lighting frame, the Aurora XPX Digital RGB Frame in chrome, is made for the Eisblock XPX Plexi or Satin CPU water cooler. It has 15 digitally addressable RGB LEDs and a standard 3-pin Digital RGB connector. One frame per pack. Alphacool's own line for it: "It's finally here! The new Aurora XPX Frame with addressable RGB."

Simple installation

The frame does not need to be screwed on. It is simply pushed onto the cooler, slipped over it from above, and it fixes itself in place thanks to what Alphacool calls an intelligent design. You do not need to remove the cooler from the motherboard to install it.

Connection

You connect the frame with a standard 3-pin Digital RGB plug at the end of its cable, which the technical data gives as 72 cm long. It can be connected to any standard Digital RGB Controller or, as Alphacool states, directly to the mainboard. Alphacool offers the Aurora Eiscontrol Addressable RGB Controller for this purpose, suitable for all digital RGB products.

Alphacool names the cable an Intelligent Connection Solution. Since you will surely use several Digital RGB LED products at the same time, a Y-adapter for further Alphacool products is integrated directly into it. This allows all digital addressable Alphacool RGB-LEDs to run in series under one control, without further cables.

Lighting

With the LEDs running once around the entire XPX Eisblock, Alphacool says the Aurora Frame provides superior illumination of the entire CPU cooler. Its heading for this is "The Best Lighting". Each LED is individually controllable, so all conceivable effects can be created with the appropriate controller. A changing color cycle, a stroboscope effect, pulse, wave and much more is possible.

You can also combine and control the frame with Asus Aura Sync with GEN 2 connector, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 and other motherboards. Alphacool adds many other hardware manufacturers to that list without naming them.

Alphacool's pitch, in its words: if you own an Eisblock XPX Plexi or Satin, you already know that the performance is fantastic, and now the lighting can match it. It says the aRGB technology has additional color options and different color modes, and that every XPX Plexi cooler shines in unexpected, bright colors.

What the lighting needs

The frame is lighting only: it needs the Eisblock XPX Plexi or Satin cooler it sits on. It also needs a Digital RGB source, either a matching motherboard header or one of our addressable RGB controllers.
