Why paracord

Alphacool calls it the AlphaCord Premium Sleeve and says that, because it is made of Paracord, it is therefore superior to many other sleeving types in many respects. By Alphacool's account it is significantly more opaque than fabric and plastic sleeves, which counts most on tight radii. It is also a more supple sleeve than plastic based options, so the final sleeved cable remains flexible and is easy to train into the desired shape and to lay. The colors are more vibrant and have more "pop" than most sleeving options.

Heatshrinkless cables

This is also a great style of sleeving for heatshrinkless cables, since the usual shrink tubing is not needed. The Ends of the AlphaCord can simply be melted and, with a press of the fingers, secured into place around the crimped connector. Alphacool gives the steps: melt the sleeve at the contact, press it on, tighten it to the other side of the cable, then repeat the process there. After that the sleeve is firmly in place and cannot slip. Overall, that makes it a great sleeving option for cables built one wire at a time.
