Why Paracord

Alphacool calls this its AlphaCord Premium Sleeve and says that, being made of Paracord, it is therefore superior to many other sleeving types in many respects. It is a more supple sleeve than plastic based options, so the final sleeved cable remains flexible at the end. That makes it easy to train: the cables are easier to shape into the desired shape and therefore easier to lay.

Alphacool also says it is significantly more opaque than fabric and plastic sleeves, and that the higher opacity is particularly positive if you want to lay tight radii. The colors are also more vibrant and have more "pop" than most sleeving options.

Heatshrinkless cables

This is also a great style of sleeving for heatshrinkless cables: when processing it you don't need the usual shrink tubing. The ends of the AlphaCord can simply be melted at the contact and, with a press of the fingers, secured into place around the crimped connector. Tighten the sleeve to the other side of the cable, then repeat the process there. The sleeve is now firmly in place and cannot slip. Overall, Alphacool rates it a great sleeving option for heatshrinkless single sleeved custom cables.
