Watercool calls the eBC backplate a useful addition for its HEATKILLER V VGA water blocks. Mounted on the backside of the graphics card, it improves the cooling performance while granting mechanical stability, due to its construction out of massive aluminum. Even more, Watercool adds, it also just looks good.

The plate cools relevant components on the PCB's back, including GPU, RAM and voltage regulation (VRM). Pre-cut thermal pads are included, and isolating spacers on the underside ensure an easy installation. It weighs 150 g; Watercool's technical data list no dimensions (L x W x H).

What you need to mount it

The enclosed mounting material is optimized for usage with HEATKILLER V water blocks, and the cylinder-head bolts underneath the backplate come with the water block itself. It can be used with water blocks of other manufacturers too. You might need to modify the mounting material, though, and that is not part of the delivery scope.

Please consult Watercool's compatibility chart at gpu.watercool.de for your exact card. Watercool has not planned a cooler for the RTX 3090 Ti.

Notes

• Check that all spacers are there before installation; with one missing, the backplate may not be mounted.
• Before the first start, check by eye that no soldering lugs touch the plate, or a short circuit could damage the hardware. A card with lugs that are too long must not be run with the backplate.
• Disassembly of the original backplate might void your graphics card's warranty.
