Designed for the Threadripper package
Watercool calls this a premium block, designed specifically for AMD® Threadripper™ processors and based on its multiple award-winning HEATKILLER IV CPU water block series. Its main feature is a completely new cooling structure, adjusted to the specific Threadripper package so that it cools all four dies under the heatspreader. Instead of simply extending the cold plate, Watercool writes, "we developed a completely new and unique water block", one it says fits the package perfectly.
For example, the cooling structure is more than 80% larger than that of a regular HEATKILLER IV PRO, yet the cold plate carries very small fins. Flow and bleeding characteristics were also optimized. All these features, Watercool says, let the block become a true performance monster.
Mounting and manufacturing
Mounting is extremely simple due to the revamped EasyMount system. It comes with a defined stop for the bolts, which Watercool says guarantees perfect and even pressure over the whole IHS. It is a product "made in Germany", manufactured on what Watercool calls state-of-the-art CNC machines at the Watercool headquarters.
Lighting
This version has a metal top and no lighting. Only the acryl nickel/red version has a pre-installed RGB LED strip, hidden under its black front cover. It connects to the LED header of the motherboard via a black paracord sleeved cable and is compatible with ASRock's RGB LED, ASUS' AURA, GIGABYTE's AORUS FUSION and MSI's MYSTIC LIGHT.

The block takes two G1/4 fittings. We also carry spare mounting hardware and more AMD CPU blocks.

Notes
- Start all four screws before you tighten any, then tighten them crosswise, one full turn at a time, until each reaches the stop.
- The inlet is in the center of the block; use demineralized or deionized (distilled) water.
