The HEATKILLER IV series
Watercool counts its HEATKILLER® CPU series among the best-known and most powerful processor water coolers in the world. Since its presentation in 2001 the model series has been constantly expanded and perfected, and the HEATKILLER® IV represents its most comprehensive and latest development. Compared to the previous model, Watercool lists:
- Up to 3 °C better temperatures
- More flow from a larger nozzle and collecting channel, resulting in fewer blockages
- The tool-free EasyMount system
- Extra large connections, thanks to 25 mm spacing between the threads
New cooling structure and optimized flow
The cooling structure underwent the biggest overhaul. Here the cooler was given significantly finer fins to ensure a larger area and thus better heat dissipation. Watercool made sure to design the slats in such a way that the flow does not suffer. The separate nozzle plate of its predecessor was dispensed with and integrated directly into the lid. Watercool says this novel design allowed it to increase performance, improve flow and optimize reliability.
HEATKILLER IV EasyMount and top workmanship
Watercool developed the EasyMountSystem to make assembly as easy as possible. This means that after the initial assembly, the cooler can be assembled or dismantled at any time without tools. The mounting system is enhanced by a fixed stop on the mounting bracket, and incorrect assembly is therefore virtually impossible.
But the design should also correspond to a product from Watercool: in its words, the best processing technology, garnished with the finest materials, result in the HEATKILLER IV. In order to present the opulent design in the best possible way, Watercool took its customers' wishes into account and considered connection types up to 19 mm.
The production takes place with the greatest care in Watercool's ultra-modern CNC machine park in Waren-Müritz. Many work steps are carried out by hand, and each product is brought to perfection according to the four-eye principle: Made in Germany, as you would imagine.
Options
For Intel LGA 1150 to 1851 boards, the same block comes as the HEATKILLER IV PRO (Intel LGA 1X00) ACRYLIC CLEAN, and more blocks are in our Intel CPU blocks category. The two ports have G1/4 threads and take two fittings.

Notes
- Watercool's manual has a page on the orientation of the block on the CPU; read it before you mount.
- Tighten the studs and knurled nuts evenly and crosswise. A metal washer belongs between spring and mounting bracket; on LGA 2011, 2011-3 and 2066 no plastic washer goes between stud and mainboard.
